I don't see how using screens attached to your face takes more time away from your family that looking across the room.
My friends and myself have children and we have no problem finding time for ourselves. Not being a single parent and keeping a proper bed time for the children helps.

Quoting: TheBossI'm going to guess you don't have your own family? They take up a lot of time.Do you even read the posts you reply to, he clearly states he has a family.
Quoting: BeamboomFurthermore I can not fathom how one can not be excited about the prospect of entering the game world, engulf it all around you. I just don't get it.It's an exciting thought, but after testing out VR myself I was left feeling a little weirded out by it. I didn't feel immersed at all as I was very aware I had something strapped to my face, with screens right in front my eyes which causes eye strain after a while.
Obviously, I am dying to get this technology. The wait is finally over. It's been a dream ever since I saw the holodeck on Star Trek. And yes, I got a wife and children - the youngest being 6 months. As if that in any way shape or form should be an obstacle.

Quoting: edddeduckferalWill the game support Force Feedback on logitech wheel using the mainline drivers?Quoting: leillo1975I have a problem: When I execute the game, It shows a window to configure resolution and other issues. When I push the button to start, the game stops in the Grid Autosport logo.Disable the pre game panel, there is an issue with some specific language setups on some machines (related to - in the language code I think). As much as I've been waiting for this game I can't help but being a bit disappointed of the price.
It has been on sale several times the last few months at 75% off and basically for free on Humble Bundle.
To top this off the feral store, where I'd like to buy it, are selling it for close to 50% higher price than the complete package on Steam...
I will certainly get it, it just bad paying Euro 70 for something that will go for ~$10 in a few weeks at xmas sale.

I played through Dying Light and Dead Island without any serious issues and good performance. It didn't "feel like it was held together with sticky tape", whatever that translates to in a game. The story is no worse than most games, there are a tiny percentage of games with good story, for the rest you'd better to be able to enjoy the other parts.
In fact it's easily one of the best games of the year.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroI'm surprised the port even works half the time, it feels like it's held together with sticky tape, same with Dead Island. I had the problem where I'd "open" the doors of certain cupboards, and only the handles would move instead of the doors. There was one hilarious moment where a cupboard was supposed to reveal a hiding person, and then spent 5 mins conversing with some oak-coloured MDF. Don't even get me started on Dead Island.
Enjoyed the game thoroughly though, despite it's graphical weirdness and uninspiring story. Let's just hope this enhanced edition and DLC don't make all the zombies black cubes or something :P.
EDIT: Also, the reason I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt is that they've been on the platform for about a year now and pretty sure Dying Light was the first AAA game to have day 1 support for Linux (correct me if I'm wrong). They may be pretty spazzy sometimes, but show good initiative. Giving everyone a big free upgrade next month is pretty damn cool too considering most games nowadays would sell you their own mother in DLC form if it meant an extra buck.
