I like how the Onyx / Classic Joystick bundle costs $1 more than buying the Onyx and Classic Joysticks separately. Good deal on that bundle!

I've got 235 Linux native games on GOG. That seems a little more than "Wine Friendly".

I get the frustration about Galaxy. For awhile, I didn't care - I don't plan on using Galaxy anyways. But now that there have been Linux ports not coming to GOG because there's no Galaxy, I care.

On the other hand, Linux users not buying games at GOG because there's no Galaxy isn't helping. GOG's justification that Linux sales are just too low to put any priority into Galaxy is helped by people not buying games at GOG because there's no Galaxy.

Me too. I backed it based on the promise of a GOG release. So far, they've done a great job of being DRM-free. Backers have received DRM-free builds throughout, so I'm pretty confident, so long as GOG doesn't do something silly and say no.

And this whole discussion is why, on the GOG forums, we refer to these games as "games you can play without the Steam client".

If you call them DRM-free, arguments ensue. Calling them "games you can play without the Steam client" accurately describes them, while avoiding the arguments.

Yes, yes you can.

In fact, you don't need the Steam client, you need a Steam client. I use SteamCMD, and play several Steam games without even having the client installed on my computer. Neither SteamCMD, nor the Steam client need to be running for the games on that list to work, and you can simply copy the install folder to another computer, and it will still work.

I don't currently even have the steam client installed. I use SteamCMD (a terminal based steam downloader from Valve) to download the games, and then play.

So SteamCMD works great without the Steam client installed. Does it works like lgogdownloader ?
I didn't know this was an official tool by Valve, but it's a pity it seems not open-source.
But it's a good point which that exists, i think.

SteamCMD is somewhat like lgogdownloader. It's not open source, and it's a little more cumbersome to use. I've written a little python wrapper to make it more lgogdownloader-like.

Currently I'm only playing three games that I own on Steam: Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight, and Kerbal Space Program. All three of these work perfectly without the client. KSP I've had installed forever, and it was installed with the client. Hollow Knight and Shovel Knight were both installed using SteamCMD - they've never even seen the client.
