Maybe add Antergos to Arch-based.
I enjoyed the questionair the other month about Graphics Card users interested in AMD / NVidia / Intel hopping, and who was content.
(Edit - not a Antergos user actually but Arch user)

SteamOS is about Valve controlling their own future and not having to live in the Microsoft House or Apple House and follow their rules. With SteamOS, Valve has the leverage to secure their future from 3rd parties demanding a part of their pie because they see them doing well.
Also, any devs that were ramping up for Steam Machine's Launch have already launched, a cooldown seems in order before we get to a steady stream again as the most gun-ho devs already released their games.
Also, even if Valve personally financed or gave a special discount to Game Devs on their cut they could easily throw their weight around to get devs to adopt their platform.
Once gamers are entrenched in this new Steam Ecosystem there is no going back, there are may reasons why Steam Machines are superior to Gaming Consoles - if you ask I'll post my biga5s list.
Also, games developed with Linux in mind from Day 1 perform equal or better on SteamOS - Ark for example does much better on Linux than on Windows 7 imo on the same hardware.

Quoting: BonsI am getting more and more the feeling that the porting of new games to Linux is getting slower and slower. And more ports are getting canceled.I really don't understand the origin of this Fear, Uncertainty or Doubt. I thought Syber selling out their Steam Machines was a huge success and having over ~1,500 games on SteamOS & Linux on Launch too.
In this phase how its now going, i am little concerned that the Steam Machines ever will succeed.

Have steam controller, can confirm - getting used to FPS on it is very difficult.
Non precision games though? Works well.
I would love if it they made a version where the trackpads could unscrew and you could screw in joysticks or some other mod.
Valve has said they hope people will Mod their Controller - I'm not sure what they means.

Not sure if game-play is awesome or terrible. It's like the opposite of AudioSurf, instead of colliding with the objectives you avoid the panels in your path.
5 lanes on one track too - I hope there's a key that jumps you over a single track only at a time.

Storm United FPS major patch released, better Linux performance

The developers optimized particle effects on the latest Linux update.
Storm United is a somewhat CPU intensive game (As are all Unreal Engine 4 games including Ark.)
Eg: My i7-940 is the source of my frame-rate issues drop when paired with my GTX 970. (I turn down post-processing to get a better frame-rate in Ark on my girl's GTX 970 and Skylake it boosted FPS from 30 to 55ish)
I was able to coordinate with a Storm Unitd dev live in game before the update and I think there was some server settings too that effected FPS or perhaps the server has the ability to set settings on clients and he remotely set settings on my machine.
Anyways, All Classes in this new update now have Knives, which I like.
I'm not experiencing the load time issues that Liam is, this update probably took a good 30% off Server Load Times and I haven't crashed yet.
Previously the crashes between maps were caused by the Voting System, and particle effects & performance differ from map to map as some maps are not optimized yet for Linux to the Nth degree.
When I upgrade to Skylake though I'm sure I'll be able to run Storm United at 4k at a decent FPS, I currently downscale to 1080p.
Checkout my Steam Controller Configuration - The Penguin - it's nice :)
