I missed the key giveaway on GOL - I considered buying a copy for $20 but the discussion forum had Linux people saying the game wouldn't even load past the start screen in some instances.
Additionally, there were players saying they couldn't play with anyone online :(

Descent: Underground On Kickstarter, Will Support Linux

I hope Descent doesn't get butchered by this new version like Duke Nukem Forever did. I'm also concerned about their team being full of "producers", "chiefs" and "directors".
I get the feeling that this new Descent is happening for a reason and you'll never guess what that reason is.... Money.
Back when Descent 1, 2 and 3 came out all PC gaming was still considered Indie because PC gaming was a undesirable platform, this caused the Golden Age where people made games as a passion instead of for "Box office returns".
I sincerely hope I'm wrong about these people, but my guts tell me I'm not.

The GOL Nouveau Experiment

Answer to Article: Nope. The 75% performance loss of using Nouveau was inadequite to run DOTA on my GTX 460 SE. Now that I got a GTX 970 last month I might be able to get away with it, but if I wanted to use a fully open driver I would buy a AMD Kaveri APU as the AMD HSA stack is part of Kernel 4.0

Thanks for the heads up all - I was glad to post my story on the petition thread. Using SC2 Galaxy Editor in WINE is a chore, I really need official support as a Content Creator.
My thead post:
My thead post:
+5 for Linux.
I am a content creator for StarCraft 2. I create RISK Action Editon which is in the top 60 daily.
We have 3 content creators in the family and all use either Arch Linux or ElementaryOS which is Ubuntu. 0 Mac, 0 Windows.
It's really this simple: support Linux or die. There are too many other good games competing for me as a player on my SteamOS/Arch Linux - some friends have 600 Linux games in the library. I would love to play StarCraft 2 in my Living room on my SteamOS PC.
According to Steam there are 750,000 active Linux users who game every month, we are also the most technically developed users and technically skilled game developers on the planet, join Linux and gain us or ignore us and your competitors will take your place as you cease to exist.
Nvidia PhysX Source Code Now Available Free On GitHub

Too bad AMD didn't hurry up, they could have taken my $400. My girls rig will need a new GPU soon so hopefully by that time AMD releases their source.
After AMD released the HSA driver, the next integrated CPU #1 on my list is the AMD Kaveri 12-core shared APU.
Until I upgrade I guess I have to learn to stop worrying and love the blob. And as to the dude the insinuated that Windows Games _always_ perform better than on Linux - I ROFL at you in a grande way good sir.
Like it or not - Linux is both the present (Routers, Coffee Makers, Toasters, Servers, Mercades Cars, Android Phones and soon to be Gaming Consoles in addition to PS4 being FreeBSD), and especially the future (The Desktop).

Quoting: MaelranePoint taken. Can confirm, am Arch user and just bought GTX 970 for $400, 0 fks given about PhysX. What I do care about, however, is Vulkan, OpenGL, etc... If I could have bought a high-end R9 990X card from AMD I would have if they opened the driver like they plan to - but hey I can't make my buying choice based on "promises".
And again: I don't think many people out there buy nvidia because they think "Hell ya, I want my games with PhysX, baby!", they buy for other reasons.

$50 - $120 however is a acceptable alternative. Valve is smart enough to know that they need to transition game developers onto SteamOS and they keyword is _gradually_, with Vulkan API, SteamOS and all the AAA titles already here and on the way - Linux & Valve have already won, the new Console will be here in November and it'll completely obliterate PS4, XBONE and WiiU. Once again Valve has a Royal Flush and is playing cards impeccably.

Quoting: fraghopperThe Steam Uplink thing smells suspiciously like a "we weren't serious about moving to Linux, so here's a router so you can keep using Windows on your real machine but stream stuff to your tv".Nah bra, I imagine that SteamUplink will be running SteamOS which is Linux, I see it as a ingenious demographic appraisal. I probably have $2,000 in Desktop hardware so it would be silly for me to buy a fully fledged Steam Machine at $700 just for my living room.

Unreal 4 is fantastic, their UT4 beta is really fun and classic 2000 Unreal imo.
All games using Unreal Engine so far have been a pleasure to run, am looking foreward to U4 quite a bit :) Maybe Nexiuz will upgrade to it.
