So my brother wanted a Steam Controller for his Steam Linux PC for graduation. Whatever RedHat, Ubuntu and Valve do to benefit the Linux Ecosystem, I'll all game.
It's certainly a very exciting time to be on Linux and use a system that's community created and in the wild.

I've heard some people really crack out on this game once they get into it. Initially it's a little slow because you have no idea what to do or your full abilities but it's basically a loot space shoot em up game inspired by Descent.
This content update looks great :)

Steam Hardware Available For Pre-order & Early Delivery

I wish the Steam Machines said what kind of GeForce GPU was in those Alienwares.
Of course my current needs can only make use of the Steam Controller & Steam Link - I would be interested in buying a Steam Machine if I had the extra cash, but I couldn't imagine buying an i3 @ 450 knowing how sub par i3's are - but maybe in comparison to XBONE and PS4 it's equivilent if devs optimize right - hard to say.

I got a dedicated HDD for Windows and installed Steam several days ago, Immediately I got the hardware survey.
I haven't had the Hardware Survey on Arch for the last 8-10 months, funny times.

Popularizing and gaining the acceptance of the Linux Brand isn't that important or relevant in the gaming world.
On the other hand Valve has handcuffed their brand & reputation to the success of SteamOS/Linux in order to convince game devs and gamers to be part of the Linux Community via SteamOS / Steam Machines.
Quality over quantity - I would rather have the entire steam library run on SteamOS/Debian/Ubuntu with minimal bugs than have every game randomly crash if you're using X distrubtion.

I wouldn't expect steam to showcase logos for Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora and 10 million other distros in that icon space.
The Penguin icon could be seen as "misleading" as their official stance of support is only on Ubuntu and Debian/SteamOS.
This move really is inconsequential and doesn't effect much at all - and if we all read into it too hard then you know what that makes us? try hards.
Nobody likes a try hard.

Developing a automated payment system for Desura would be prudent.
I contacted them 2 - 3 years ago suggesting various upgrades as their software is in need of a serious overhaul if they ever want to be a viable alternative to steam.
Too bad for them their code seems to still reak of problems.
