Great news! I love this game and still think it's their best game yet. I'm really looking forward for the expansions!

Quoting: whizseRegular Wine as in no fsync or esync patches?
Yeah, vanilla wine. Using the Heroic launcher with wine GloriousEggroll branch and fsync/esync the game runs smooth as glass.

Cheers.

GOG's Halloween Sale is live with Days Gone now available

Unfortunately, Days Gone isn't running well with regular wine (8.18). It's choppy and unplayable (AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT & Ryzen 3700X). And for those who care, being a Sony game, it also collects data, just like Horizon Zero Dawn. So you would want to either put it in a sandbox without network access or use this great and simple command suggested by artixbtw. (Then again, any game made with Unity3D collects data.)

Here's some alternatives to the Unity game engine

Quoting: GuestProtip: if you care about your fellow indie game developer that's stuck on Unity, before playing their single-player game for the first time, launch their game with:

unshare -rn %command%
Interesting!

Personally, I put all my games in sandboxes and single player games always in sandboxes without any network connection. That's just another way of keeping Unity's "call-back-home" behaviour in check, but definitely not as simple as yours.

Dev of Shadow Tactics, Desperados III, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew shutting down

This comes as a surprise and I'm utterly shocked! Especially so shortly after their latest release, Shadow Gambit, which I personally think is their best game. I had hoped that this release would be a great success for the team.

But yeah, as others have said, if the development and all had such a high toll, then they certainly made the right decision. It's very sad, though.

It's already available at GOG.com as well. It's only just called Quake II [External Link] .

Wine 8.13 is out now with plenty of bug fixes

All versions since wine 8.10 mess up mouse movement in Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut. It gets stuck at the edges so the character can't be moved by 360° anymore.

The game also has a demo on Itch.io [External Link].

Looks fun but my enthusiasm to back projects up on crowdfunding platforms has long gone. I'll rather wait for the release of the full game.

Direct3D to Vulkan translator DXVK 2.1 adds HDR support, improves shader stutter issue

Quoting: andy155Note: The setup script setup_dxvk.sh was no longer deemed useful and got removed.
Bad idea and a step backwards. ;(((
It's a pity indeed but not a big deal, as the script from an old DXVK version can still be used for the current one (and likely future ones as well).
