The TUXEDO Nano Pro is a powerhouse in a tiny box

This is interesting if you want to support a Linux PC vendor and you live in the EU, otherwise, aliexpress is absolutely riddled with such tiny format PCs(which Tuxedo probably OEMs from) for much cheaper. I configured an almost carbon copy of this with Ryzen 4500u, 16GB RAM, and 500GB SSD for just under 700€ while the same config of this one is 820€, although admittedly it comes with faster 3200MT/s RAM instead of 2666MT/s.

Looks like it's all over for the once promising Smach Z handheld

Quoting: scaineBack when this PC came out, my only experience of Linux was playing about with LiveCDs, such as Mandriva.
Was it Mandriva back then? Back in those days was when I just got introduced to Linux and Mandrake 8.2 was my first distro. And after some time, Mandrake merged with someone to form Mandriva I think...before they became Mageia or whatever...yea man, definitely been a long time :)
That someone was Conectiva, a now defunct Brazilian distro.

Continuing this trend, the distro that collaborated with Mandriva to design it's heavily custom KDE desktop is ROSA which seems to be going the same direction as Mandriva because, while they keep the old distribution up to date, some parts of it's codebase that were released in 2016 start to show their age and the new rebase that should have been released in 2019 is still being worked on.

So, I do not think I qualify as a distro-hopper… I guess I distro-settled a looong time ago.
Thought the same... I had my system over 15 years, until I couldn't figure out a problem... created by 15 years old config files nobody tested against anymore. :-) Reinstalled the same distribution.

So, why distro-hopping when there's [insert your favourite distribution here]? ;-)
This is much more invaluable if you do any kind of support as you only need a single usb drive to recover data, resize partitions, install any version of windows, wipe windows account password, etc.

Quoting: DuncCan't say I've ever found writing ISOs to USB much of a hardship (heck, I still like to keep a copy of SystemRescueCD handy... on CD; you never know when it might turn out to be your only option), but anything that makes life easier is always welcome.
It's just a question of convenience, saves time and space, not to mention you can still use it as a normal drive for storing other stuff. That said it doesn't work with every image so some still have to be written to USB anyway, case in point ROSA hybrid ISOs fail to mount correctly during boot if not written directly to USB.

Looks like an alternative to Easy2Boot which is what I'm currently using because although it requires windows for the initial setup, the process of adding other OS's is the same, just drop the ISO into the pen and you're done.

The RPG 'Wasteland 3' from inXile Entertainment has a new trailer from E3 and a new launch window

Maybe not that strongly, but I didn't like it either. Had no idea this was meant to be Scotchmo (a character from Wasteland 2) until I read about it somewhere.

I liked Wasteland 2 so will keep my eyes on this and watch for news. Obviously it must come out on Linux to be viable for my money.

Overall I feel really sad about inXile and especially Obsidian being bought up by Microsoft. Means we can forget about Linux released in future games from them, and the quality of the games may suffer as well. Can also forget about DRM Free and GOG releases (for 5+ years). Very bad news that these quality developers that have a history of making great games in reality are no more.
Too late for me since I backed it, but even this gameplay trailer they released two years ago looks and feels much better than the E3 trailer which is why I feel so strongly against it.
