Some thoughts on the Shadowrun series

I loved the shadowrun games, I tried my best to be evil-ish, indifferent to life, basically a cold merc with a taste for gold. I felt restricted in that quest but they were still very fun anyway. I liked HK the best,DMS second and dragonfalls last even though it was still a great game. Like Hamish, I tried to stick to one train of thought, "handgun?", "attitude?", "check", "check", time to roll!

other than that, i suppose it's all moot. the new map is whatever, doesn't change much except I keep walking to the wrong spots for secret shops, the ancients are again a wash really. The HotD is now trash, and MoM cost too much making toons reliant on self sufficiency early less viable as a whole.
having trouble with MK? I find faceless void does a good job of catching him and Storm Spirit really can mess him up. happy hunting.

Quoting: Kuduzkehpanbackpack is to make item completing building more easy for players. many times we had to drop our items front of secret shops etc. and loot back. wait for courrier to come bla blaperformance is slightly worse for me, with certain things turned on. however on the good side, connections are better it seems! on the bad side, the inventory crunch was there for a reason, it makes things challenging, yes I find it convenient but so don't my opponents. the runes used to be fun for first blood and a team to flex it's muscle, now it's tame. games have turned into one sided affairs these days. much much more so than anything before.
now its all rest in peace. New map has more opportunities games are shortens to 30-40 minute.
but best part is HUD designe its more briliant and smaller so we can see more of game itself instead of HUD.
Talent tree gives more choises of gameplay. And Roaming Team has more opportunities now instead of before. jungle shrines gives better levelling to junglers. well good job Valve. And performans is better than before for me.
newest nvidia drivers installed. Vulkan renderer works like charm.

Actually I play luna often without SD, but the thing of it is this... Starting items that aren't valuable enough even mid game like say an iron talon maybe kept in any game with profit just to cut out of ... nm I am sure you can imagine the situations, lucky for me I play without illusion spamming but the skill trees and their life steal on certain carries is going to be very problematic, have fun killing a PA after this. I really think this is bad as it eliminates all pushing strats (except PL, God I don't want to play through another phantom cancer era) from being viable... or at least meta.

Quoting: KeyrockOnly time and plenty of gameplay will tell, but it seems like the backpack would be a giant boost for Alchemist, not that Alch needed it. I mean, what other hero regularly gets to the point where they run out of item slots (and start handing out Aghs to their teammates)?I get six slotted on Luna/LC once in a while if the game lasts long enough but you're right that he is easily able to be 6 slotted before most games end.
I'm happy about the illusion nerf, if for no other reason then so I don't have to see SD/Luna every game any more.

Items that are in your backpack are Inactive (cannot be activated or grant passive bonuses)
Items cooldown at only half the rate when they are anywhere except your main inventory.
Cannot put the following items in your backpack: Gem, Rapier, Bloodstone, and Aegis.
Items can always be moved out of backpack with no Inactivity timer when near a shop.
Okay these are the rules, I would like to see items not cool down to make swapping less viable, then I think it'd be pretty damn okay. But I guess it's not too bad, sorry for the knee jerk reaction.
Edit 2. Some of the new mechanics are pretty shitty. It nerfs push yet again (illusion nerfs and punishment), buffs characters like AXE, yet again. the moon wells... whoops I mean wait what did they call them again? Are nifty for regen, it'll make less self sustainable junglers more viable allowing more greedy lineups especially with another ancient camp. Sigh, I think this game is going to get grass to hide in next.
neutral respawn time change.
0:30/1/3/5/7/etc
well, that's really nerfing jungling creeps, I guess they want to force fights around more rune spots, this is pretty bad as it'll allow quick starting teams to always dominate without a comeback mechanic for the carry forced into a jungle.

Quoting: liamdaweI didn't say ruin, but... when a hero gets really fat (well fed, or very rich/high level) they are limited to the slots they have, either using a courier to carry another item for situational purposes or dropping an item for another (to carry an aegis of the immortal or similar purposes). This makes the game, especially late game, very strategic. I don't know how this is to be implemented as you're the first to make me aware of the change and it maybe better than i think it is. I just know there will be many new strats to accommodate having switchable slots at all times if it is the way i think it is, and not that change is bad but the power of have 3 extra switchable items seems pretty game altering, for better or worse.Quoting: Xzylummm the backpack is gamebreaking, a 6 slotted carry is a nightmare a 8 slotted one is going to be down right ridiculous. BTW this game a game we all should throw money at.. I know I do, so much so.Game changing yes of course, game breaking? I'm not so sure there.
What about them makes you feel it ruins the experience exactly?

Problems with MMO's...
player gap (newer players are ever increasingly gaped from early adopters, GW capped items making it all about skins so that solved that mostly)
insane amounts of time needed to get anywhere (an adult with a job makes playing a grinding game a second job, this isn't acceptable for those of us with children (well attentive parents anyhow)).
monthly payments (GW again was great in this respect)
Games like this succeeded in giving us players false sense of achievement. Playing EQ when it originally came out was a game changer (3D!), people HAD to work together because everyone was weak as all hell. Whenever a raid went well, or a god fell, the whole server knew about it because it was such an amazing accomplishment. since then.. MMO's have been simplified further and further making them more accessible to those who many not want to live in a fantasy world but can follow simple arrows, like to harvest/craft (God this is so stupid, my warrior isn't a freaking master chef/tailor/armor I just want to adventure), and then you get an influx of young players who don't respect the world they're in and are just bored kids with no life.
A good MMO shouldn't try to be everything to everyone... it's why all the newer ones are too identical to each other (minecraft meets sims with a splash of D&D for fantasy settings)
I just hope Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is able to be ran in wine.

Quoting: EzyRhinoDAOC was amazing didn't know they were releasing another game. DAOC/GW1/Warhammer Online were my favorite pvp systems in MMO's.Quoting: Crystal DaggerAlso MMO's as we know them are a dying breed, newer generation of gamers are more interested into other genres of online gaming.Camelot Unchained! But alas, no linux support :( Maybe it'll run with Wine, we shall see.

Quoting: Comandante oardoAs a former Windows XP user, I want the games (or other software) EASY to install and use: Just click the "install_whatevergameorapp" file and let the GUI do the magic (asking me only things like if I want an icon shotcut on the desktop)...Funny every time I touch a Windows system I feel like I'm being punished having to hunt down EXE's and drivers on the web. However I understand what you mean, I like steam handling my games for me so there isn't random things scattered here and there as well as just hitting download/install, ideally any software management should be this simple for mundane single application installs.
I don't like terminal commands; they make me travel 20 years to the past, when I was an MS-DOS user/student.
Quoting: JudasIscariotI really wish that he'd also mentioned for developers to stop making 32-bit versions of anything. 32-bits on Linux is dead as far as I am concerned and having a 64-bit build should reduce the dependency on runtimes or needing to pull a bunch of libs from a distro's package manager.I'm not super anti 32 but it's time has come and gone, thanks to your friends at wintel it's still alive and kicking. However there is something to be said about 64b address bloat in applications.
Quoting: GuestI’d rather get a simple .tgz than an annoying installer.for any of the humble/random games this is my preference as well I have no problem running things and then deleting them just be deleting the folder it ran in. reminds me of a time i wish we still had with applications with .cnf files and registry wasn't a thing yet on windows.
