Quoting: fagnerlnSomeone tested GTA V with this version?Yep. Works flawlessly for me as opposed to Proton 4.2-9 and 4.11-7 that were bundled with the Steam Client.
A quick run over some details from the recent ProtonDB data

I've put it over 160 hours already - best spent money ever!
The only downside is - I couldn't get SteamController to work properly (not a big loss though as my main gamepad Logitech F710 worked out of the box flawlessly).
If Proton keeps getting better I see no reason not to revive Steam Machines!

It's also nice to see so many people trying out (and enjoying) The Witcher 3, with it being the second most popular game. I'm not entirely surprised here, as I imagine a number of people purchased it originally when a big announcement was made about it coming to SteamOS/LinuxI bought the game only after I made sure it works out of the box. That's the experience I'm looking for.

It's time to bug Feral Interactive about future port requests once again

This is wonderful news.
The fact that publishers/developers set new prices themselves is particularly interesting. I have taken a look at two Linux games that cost exactly the same in euros (FM 2018 and F1 2017) and in my local currency the difference in price between these two titles is quite substantial (around 9% = over 5 euros). Football Manager is even more expensive than in euros but I imagine FM is probably one of those games with inelastic demand.
Still, I've been waiting for this moment for a long time so I'm glad it finally happened. I can't wait for winter sale now :)!

Quoting: Alm888Does it know how to stream from Linux? (I really don't know, no joking.)Yes. I tried streaming from my:
- Ubuntu 16.04 laptop(full success)
- Ubuntu 16.04 desktop (no sound streamed sadly, probably some configuration-specific issues - I had to install some custom sound driver on original installation of 12.04 if I recall correctly)
- and Macbook (worked ok after steam client update)

I've bought Kopanito (which is 70% off right now [External Link]). Really nice, casual game. I definitely recommend it!
F1 2016 won't be coming to Linux, as sales of F1 2015 weren't strong enough

I've put in 30 or 40 hours in it and I enjoyed it very much but I've also played F1 2010 and 2011 and to me 2015 feels like demo version. It's lacking some of the content of its predecessors (career mode for example).
Thus I can understand where negative reviews come from.
Still I think it's great that any of F1 games has been ported to Linux. It's sad that we won't be getting F1 2016 but I hope we will see some newer installment ported in the future.

Quoting: leillo1975The game is pretty good if you haven't played any of the previous in the series.Quoting: ageres> Reviews: Mostly negative.I don't understand why the reviews are negative. The game is not excellent, but it is not so bad either. Maybe people had too high expectations.
I wonder why sales were poor…
F1 2016 has "very positive" rating though.

SC Controller, the stand-alone Steam Controller driver and UI has an important bug-fix release

To my surprise some games still have a problem detecting SC properly - Tropico 5 had some strange mappings and Saints Row IV didn't recognize SC at all - I had to revert to mouse+keyboard or Logitech gamepad.
But the biggest drawback for me is short analog stick - makes racing games really difficult - it may be so because I've been using Logitech gamepads for years but still - I quickly switched to steering with gyroscope.
Despite all of that I really enjoy using Steam Controller. In most games it is as comfortable as regular gamepad and it enables to play games that are not controller-friendly which is it's biggest advantage.
Playing FPS games is still much, much easier with mouse+keyboard than with SC in regular gamepad mode (no surprise there) so next thing I'm planning to do is to try out aiming with touchpad+gyro. Steering with gyroscope in racing games made for really unique experience so I have high hopes for this one!

Quoting: Beamboom(...)I've bought one about a month ago. I tried it with several games and while I really like it I must admit it has some caveats.
It's different indeed, with the touch pads. But it's cool to use! I haven't done any serious gaming with it yet but I love how it just works in all games within Steam.

I would love to be able to play The Witcher 3 and Project CARS on Linux.
Also I have been waiting to play Banished for a long time.
GRID Autosport would be a nice bonus. Linux really needs AAA racing games.

Quoting: torritJust for the record: I installed Wine from Ubuntu Software Centre and the game works like a charm. I still don't know what was wrong with standalone wine that was packaged with the game though.Quoting: omer666Bought Flatout 2 right away (Wine wrapper), and I don't know if their Wine version uses CSMT but the game runs flawlessly. I'm not even using Ubuntu, I'm on Arch.Lucky you! I bought it as well and it crashes on start up. And I'm using Ubuntu (albeit 12.04).
