Quoting: PitIt's native (SDL 1.2).
Oh, thanks. Removing from my wishlist…

Edit: As someone is bound to ask, that’s because SDL 1.2 blocks alt-tab.

Indeed, that won't work with that game. But there's too many nice games around using SDL 1.2 I wouldn't want to dump because of this....

Quoting: g000hJust wanted to check with you - The Original Strife : Veteran Edition - updated with high-res textures in 2014 - Is that a Native Linux port? Or is it a Wine Wrapper or Dosbox release?

Also, are you playing the GOG or Steam version of this, yourself? (Thanks)

I bought it some time ago. It's native (SDL 1.2). Only played a bit so far, but it rund fine.

Quoting: Guestwhen you sort the Linux games by release date they sort by the Windows release date instead.

Makes sense, in a way...

To me, not....
Similar to the DRM-free tags in Humble: You select Linux game, DRM-free, and are left with a whole bunch of games that are DRM-free on Win/Mac but only have a Steam Linux version...

Yes, some filters could be (a lot) smarter.

QuoteAnd here is another way of solving the issue: a great discount (like, 60%) and the news on the GOG's front page should do the work. :-)

Agree, and they (quite sometimes) do this (e.g., Owlboy recently). Checking discounted Linux games is on my daily GOG tasklist :D

Owlboy, is now available for Linux and it has completely won me over, it's also on sale

Immediately got it after I discovered it on GOG yesterday evening. Not much to add to what has been said already: Just go and get it. It's worth every cent.
Big thanks to flibitijibibo.

The Humble Store winter sale is on and DiRT Showdown is free

Wow, this really is an impressive list. Looks like more than 50% of their DRM-free games are discounted (although the filter is somewhat flawed).

A lot of those I already own, on my personal list of interest are

Whispering Willows, A Good Snowman is hard to build, Back to Bed, The Way, and Lumo.

A pity the free game is Steam-only.

Inexor, a fully open source fork of the FPS game Sauerbraten

I seem to remember that Inexor concentrates on the Arena part. Sauerbraten does have some (quite nice) Single-Player campaigns.

Fossil Echo, a beautiful looking story-driven platformer should come to Linux soon

Hmm, there's some not-so-good reviews on GOG, accusing it of bad movement control.
Maybe I'll wait for your review, but I'm definitely interested :)
The graphics are really beautiful...

What game are you truly thankful to have on Linux & SteamOS?

I do believe it, it's also on my top, level with Victor Vran and Bards Tale

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade and Stunt Island are now available for Linux on GOG

Quoting: meggermanWill they play at 1440p fullscreen ? I imagine that they are 4:3 but are they at least fullscreen top to bottom on a 16:9 monitor ?
They do, both on 1440 and 1080. As tuubi writes, this doesn't depend on the game, but on the emulator (scummvm/dosbox).

Feral Interactive are also doing a winter sale until January 2nd

QuoteDiscounts, sales and promotions for the discerningly thrifty Mac gamer.
Well, that's a bit embarrassing.

Hah, at least one "advantage" for the DRM-free crowd: Whether it's only for Macs or only for Steam doesn't make a difference... :P

SCNR and Merry Xmas to all!
