On the Kickstarter page they mentioned a DRM-free version. So that was only for the backers?

Starbound Could Be Open Source In Future

Quoting: TheRealJeffI am with @stan here, unless a game starts open source and the community is responsible for creating it, I don't see a lot of benefit in going OS.
How about wanting to play a game again in a few years? Company is no longer interested in it, but it won't run on recent OS anymore. With CS you're f****d, with OS it can (and most probably will) be fixed.
While I definitely don't insist in OS for games, I clearly see it as a very positive added value. (and yes, I mean I get the code, but still pay for the data/artwork)

Yes, some nice food for us non-steam gamers (and for others too, of course...)
There were enough games I didn't have yet, and that had decent reviews, so buying it was a very quick decision. Let's see what the 'upgrade' will bring :D

Quoting: PlintslchoFantastic!
Now there's another shop besides Humble where we can buy DRM-free Linux games. Now I'll consider buying games from GOG.com again.

Hey, don't forget about shinyloot.com! They were far ahead of humble in terms of selecting OS and DRM type in the search. They're still my first place to look. The amount of games is somewhat limited, but if they have it, I normally get it there...

GOG com Now Officially Support Linux Games

QuoteWe have officially announced that we will provide support for the two most commonly used distros: Mint and Ubuntu. If someone that fulfils that requirement is experiencing technical issues with a game and if our support can't make it work, we'll give them their money back.

So that means I can only get my money back if I run Ubuntu/Mint? That renders it completely useless as security cushion for other Distros' users - if it doesn't run you're just screwed and left alone. :| Clearly not nice™
