OK, may be I need some re-calibration. But the trailer really doesn't look like I'd pay $20 for this(*) :o (and I'm not the pay-only-1$-for-bundles type)
(*)at least not without a demo version to get me hooked

I've seen it (it had been on special sale for a week or so, but that has ended now).
But after Liam's review and the not-so-informative ones on the GOG site I decided not to get it for now....

As I don't have a steam acount, maybe someone can relay it to the developers (or point them here):
OpenSUSE Leap 42.1
libaldmb libdumb are not in the default repositories and have to be added from some OBS repos. There only version 0.9.3 is available, and symlinks have to be created manually for the versions lib*.so.1 that ags requests. liballeg is in the standard repo and needs to be installed.
Then the game runs, but without sound. For this to work, the package 'allegro' needs to be installed (default repo), then there is also sound.
No other issues detected so far.

Would actually be interesting to know how Humble handled the Gianna Sisters case. Like, did they hold back part of the payment (proportional to amount of Linux buyers)?
As for Rogue Stormers, not really my game, a bit too action-heavy for my taste (but I'd have to wait anyhow til/if it shows up outside steam, too)

GOG now have the challenging minimalistic platformer '140', cool soundtrack that ties into the gameplay

Yes, just saw it a moment ago, as it is currently on special sale, 20% off....
Already own it though - from one of the HIBs. But to my shame I have to admit I didn't even find the time to install it so far, not to mention playing it :O

Dungeons 2 and all the DLC is now available on GOG with Linux support

My first step when installing a new game is normally to ldd the binary and only keep bundled libraries that I don't have the proper version for in my distros repositories....

QuoteAs usual for GOG, you need to make sure you install certain libs as they don't bundle any, this time it's only one "libsdl2-2.0-0:i386".Hmm, almost all of my GOG games come with some not-so-common libs. So stating they don't bundle any is definitely wrong. Even more, at least I do rather welcome this omission - especially the SDL libs should a) be installed on any gaming computer anyhow and b) have so far been the most often cause of problems when bundled with a game.

Only makes it harder to understand (for me). Escaping the grip of Microsoft, just to end in the arms of Valve. What a big step forward - not.
As I said - without those people 'cutting of their noses' 25 years ago there would probably be no alternative today. We should do all we can to prevent Steam from getting a monopoly on Linux gaming. If you are not willing to do it, fine. I won't threaten anyone - never did. But at least do not spit on others that do care.

Quoting: Mountain ManDistro elitism. Nice. Not really. Rather the observation/experience that most people I met that are quickly willing to forget about the free-as-in-speech were coming from that corner...
QuoteDoes that sufficiently establish my Linux "cred" to allow me to express my opinion?

Well, that's the kind of statement that you expect from an *buntu user that most likely has been using Windows until a few years back (or even still uses it).
If the people behind GNU and Linux had had your attitude, we indeed would not have anything to discuss about right now.

Quoting: Mountain ManI'm honestly baffled by this anti-Steam sentiment. If not for Steam and Valve's efforts in promoting Linux gaming, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Refusing to buy from Steam is a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
