FEZ has a massive 1.2 update that switches out MonoGame for FNA & SDL2

Quoting: Avehicle7887Hopefully they'll also release the update for the DRM-Free version on Humble Bundle, otherwise I won't be able to enjoy this update at all.

Same hope here (so far it's not updated). As I understand FNA is not tied to steam (?), so there should be some hope, even more as it's also on GOG :)

System Shock remake has blasted past the Linux stretch goal, officially coming to Linux

Quoting: mr-eggbtw i played the demo, it had no sound and it silent quit once, on my second launch but again it only had minimal testing.

Same sound issue here. For me it was the libSDL2 that comes with the demo. If I move away the lib directory (and run the game with my distros' SDL2) sound is fine.

As for the demo:
It really is tough on the graphics, my GTX980 fan started blowing like with no other game so far....

I cannot get past the code door - not sure if it's supposed to be like that. The email I found played at about 0.1x speed - should it contain the info? But i cannot replay it....
(I don't know the original game)

Humble 2K Bundle 2 has a few big Linux games for cheaps

So that is 3 out of 10 games for Linux, 0 out of 10 DRM-free.

Quite 'humble' (aka meager) indeed :((

Trial by Viking released for Linux, a 2D platformer with minor puzzle elements, some thoughts

Thanks for the demo-link flesk!

I definitely have seen worse platformers, though for my taste the monsters run a bit too fast.

Why does the article have a GOG tag? Is it supposed to show up there, too? Right now there's nothing :(

Humble Store is doing a DRM-Freedom sale with some great Linux deals

Quoting: Comandante oardoAgain, Deepsilver releasing DRMFREE games only for Windows. This time on Humble. :><:

:(
And what is - in this context - just as annoying is that if you search for DRM-free Linux Games you will still get those ones as a result - their filter system is not the very smartest :o

Quoting: tuubiWhich browser is that? Are you sure it's the browser and not a script blocker add-on of some sort? I just tried three popular browsers (all with an advert blocker of some sort) and everything works fine.
Vivaldi, the chrome-based opera successor. No 'obstacles' on my side - just their internal scripts deliver an error, and all I see is the 'page loading' animation image....

To get somewhat on-topic - just checked the sales page using firefox, but did not find anything for me - either not my type of game, or I already own it... :P

Hmm, maybe I should have a look. Lately, Humble has been a quite bad address for DRM-free-Linux lovers - too much win-only and steam-only stuff in anything other than the HIBs....

Now if only their pages would work in my browser. First only my library page, then also the main store page, and just now I realize even the single game pages do not display at all anymore. Guess I'll stay with GOG then.

(Yes, I reported the issue long time ago already. They don't care.)

Platformer On Rusty Trails now DRM free on GOG, it's really cool

Quoting: PitWell, in the case of Victor Vran that (shipping with SDL) was a bad idea, on my system (openSUSE) I got a segfault due to this supplied lib.
Annoying. It would be interesting to know why it crashed.

I assume it was some library SDL was liked against on the compile system, that has a different version (or compile parameters?) on my system, but I did not investigate further.

It though is a problem I have faced more than once already, which is why I just go ahead and try my own libs without trying to spot the core of the issue :|

Quoting: GuestNot providing SDL with the game is a terrible idea, as SDL’s behaviour can change from version to version.

Well, in the case of Victor Vran that (shipping with SDL) was a bad idea, on my system (openSUSE) I got a segfault due to this supplied lib. Removing it from the game directory started the game, but still left me without sound....

It does run perfectly when using (all) my original system libs.....
