SEGA probably found a different way to sell them, like they did when Sonic Origins led to the Sonic 1/2/3&K ROMs being delisted from the collection.

So, they'd rather cut off a part of their playerbase rather than implementing server-side anti-cheat, huh.
I'm glad I don't play that kind of game, not gonna lie. Single-player is once again proven to be superior.

If Valve do ever plan to launch a Steam Deck 2, they’re going to need to overhaul the rating system anyway right? One thing they could also do is have a general Linux/Proton rating. Because I have a few games which work on the Deck but not desktop Linux.

It's also useful for games that either require components that simply aren't available on Wine (speech recognition, for example) or have issues that only happen in Wine and/or with DXVK (like the Modern Warfare remaster consistently hanging at specific points in two missions, or LEGO Ninjago consistently crashing at a specific point during a specific cutscene, or Homefront Revolution consistently crashing when entering a specific area).

Quoting: redneckdrowThe best thing an experienced Linux user can do to save their sanity is to bite the bullet and go Linux-only. Unless you're required to work with Windows-only tools, of which there are very few that won't work in WINE these days, for a job.I'll be honest, I switched to Linux around 1.5 years ago, and I have to keep a Windows installation around because good luck debugging the Windows build of a project on Linux because Wine's debugging support is not good.

Personally, I think the original RE4 is better than the remake. I played both, and I really didn't like some of the changes from the latter, including the changes to the tone and characterisation.
So, yeah, I personally recommend the OG game with the RE4HD mod for the best experience.

Honestly, I wish it succeeds. Games like the Hitman reboot trilogy with online-only save systems should not have existed in the first place, and let's hope this initiative will discourage devs/publishers from trying that again.

Quoting: robvvI'd actually never heard of these games until they appeared on Steam. I think I was playing too much Doom or Quake back in those days!To be honest, the series being effectively Apple-exclusive (before Aleph One became a thing, only Marathon 2 was ever released elsewhere, on Windows and Xbox) kinda had a hand in that.

Oh, it even has the XBLA graphics via a free DLC.
Anyway, time to wait until Infinity drops so I can replay the whole trilogy.

Honestly, I'm tired of companies trying to get on the current AI hype train.
I'm not *completely* against technologies like that, as long as it's used in moderation. For example, I use Tabnine [External Link] in basic mode, which is basically an improved code completion system, and using a purely local model trained exclusively on my own code. And this is more than enough for my own purposes.

In the case of point #2, I'd like to mention there's a British game that actually allows this: Talisman Digital Edition (by Nomad Games). You can buy DLCs for the game on Android, iOS, GOG, or Switch, and use them with the Steam version just fine, as long as they're registered to your Nomad Games account. And except for the Switch version (Nintendo doesn't like games accessing DLCs bought from outside Nintendo's system), same the other way around, too. Bought a DLC on Steam ? You can access it from the mobile game, or the GOG version.
And Valve has been okay with this for years already.
