Why did they choose that era? simple gameplay, back then the games had to be playable, fun, exciting, frustrating & rewarding without the flashy graphics we have now, as has been shown time & time again flashy graphics on their own do not a good game make.

I've got a GeForce 9800 GT & apart from having to turn the settings down it runs & runs, in fact I've logged 15 hours so far, the only crashes I've seen were on the day of release due to me fiddling with the .ini files.

There are some downright awful games on Steam but when you look closely at them you find that most are bad ports of Windows games that weren't up to much to begin with.
