@shadowofward Bazzite is the go-to for anyone wanting a SteamOS-like distro. Just be aware that this is a Fedora-based distribution, so you will have to install Fedora packages for any software not on the Discover store.

Can I, and how would I, enable two people playing simultaneously with split screen on one PC with two controllers?
Yes! But you'll have to resize the windows yourself, and you won't be able to play on online servers without an additional account. What you'll need is:
  • Prism Launcher

  • At least one Microsoft account that has purchased Minecraft

  • At least one controller for each player other than the first

  • A somewhat beefy PC

Here are the steps:
  • Install Prism Launcher and login to your account

  • Install the Fabulously Optimised modpack (comes with Controlify) on an instance: https://wiki.download.fo/install-instructions#prism-launcher [External Link]

  • Duplicate the instance for how ever many players you want

  • Click Play Offline on an instance and enter a username

  • Repeat for each instance

  • You're done! Each instance can now join each other on a shared world! Just remember, no official servers unless you have additional Microsoft accounts that have purchased the game.

Steam Deck hits 18,000 games playable and verified
15 Mar 2025 at 11:59 am UTC

As R Daneel Olivaw pointed out, the Verified system needs a lot of fine-tuning, before I start trusting it. That said, I'm glad to see the number of Verified games outweigh the number of Unsupported titles! Soon, the latter number will pass below 1000, leaving only a few that can run on Windows alone. Even if the Verified system is still bored, Verified alone confirms the game works on Linux, and that's far better than it used to be.

Wow, Plasma 6, controller wake-up, AND supporting other handhelds? No wonder this release took a while, Valve are cooking.

Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios and EA gets Steam Deck Verified and no EA app needed
1 Mar 2025 at 10:50 pm UTC

I'm just glad that it's Steam Deck Verified. However, I'm going to wait on this, because as much as I love Hazelight games, Verified games tend to be hit-or-miss performance-wise, especially when the game in question is published by a large company.

Is it not concerning to anyone else how many of these we've had in recent years?

is anyone playing on Deck? How's it run?
Not well. Linux performance in general is quite poor, compared to Windows. Although, it has been a while, so maybe I'll check it out again.
