Minecraft Chaos Cubed update release date revealed for June 16

I'm iffy on Vulkan support. On one hand, it's great to move on to more modern graphics APIs. On the other hand, Vulkan on Windows is still really iffy, to the point where Godot switched to DX12, even when they said they were only adding DX12 for Xbox support. This has nothing to do with Vulkan itself and everything to do with the state of Vulkan drivers on Windows.

Steam Beta brings even more Steam Controller tweaks and a firmware fix for Linux
30 May 2026 at 9:52 am UTC

Quoting: StellaThose are all software fixes. They need to get the (unchangeable) hardware part right, which they seemingly did.
Hence why I always wait a year. The hardware looks great on paper, but the only way to tell if the software and the support is going to be good is to simply wait it out and see how the community reacts.

So far, it seems that everyone is praising the comfort and customisability, but there are still two glaring criticisms: the lack of support outside Steam and the high price point.

Steam Beta brings even more Steam Controller tweaks and a firmware fix for Linux

Considering the amount of SC fixes lately, I'm glad that I stuck to my usual rule of waiting to buy hardware 1 year after release.

SDL adds expanded support for the new Steam Controller without Steam
15 May 2026 at 6:27 pm UTC

Quoting: ScottCarammellgood, for as much as I think Steam Input is a great system it being closed-source and Steam-exclusive makes it something I'm weary about reliance on. I can't imagine why Steam Controller doesn't work with X-input out-of-the-box when all of their other hardware works with or without official Steam software...
Here's my crack theory: most PC players have Windows machines and most PC players buy games on Steam. Maybe the idea is that players will use the mouse mode of the Steam Controller to open Steam, instead of having to switch to their mouse and keyboard? That way, you can sit back on your couch or desk chair without touching anything but the Controller.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Forza Horizon 6 and Subnautica 2 get Steam Deck Verified

As neolith says, I'm surprised Lego Batman was Verified. It feels like it's going to run like absolutely dogwater, which only asks the question: what criteria does Valve use to classify games as Verified?

Better late than never. Controller support and local split screen is next on my bucket list. I never thought they would be possible before, but here we are.

Bazzite Linux 44 lands for desktop gamers and it's a big release

Quoting: ChrisznixHow is everyday life with bazzite?
I unfortunately have an Nvidia graphics card, which means that my KDE taskbar has a chance to break if you interact with it more than once. Also, sometimes the lock screen freezes upon waking from sleep (but you could still type in your password and the system will unlock fine), which is somehow an improvement compared to when it only showed a black screen and the only solution was a restart.

I'm aware that this is a KDE issues not a Bazzite one, but it still sucks.

The first major update for Slay the Spire 2 is out now

Quoting: inlinuxdudeSTS2 is great already (and getting better all the time)...Not sure why Chinese players don't understand its early access and still being worked on... :(
It seems many players from China are complaining because their deck no longer guarantees a win, so now they have to change their strategy to win. A common thread among all the negative reviews is that the cards that used to be very overpowered have now been nerfed, with one review even asking the developers to "livestream themselves winning the game on the highest difficulty with all the characters" (disclaimer: I do not know Chinese, so I used Google Translate for that one).

Dome Keeper free multiplayer update and Lost Keepers DLC have launched

Yes, for those who don't know, despite the article not specifying it, this game was built in Godot. They even had a talk at GodotCon about adding multiplayer to a singleplayer game!

Steam Beta adds Remote Downloads Management

Quoting: Liam DaweI really doubt that is the actual real reason, because it's a bit silly if so considering you can just drag them all into the Up Next like I do.
According to Steam and Reddit forums, it apparently used to be a feature, but was removed during the pandemic because of the heavy load on their servers.
