In any case, it's interesting that it reports the spin as part of the name, so any spin will be considered by the stats system as a separate distro. Would be really interesting to see what's in that "Other" category as it's almost a quarter of all users.

Operating System Version:
Fedora Linux 42 (Cinnamon) (64 bit)
At one point in the past it was definitely not reporting this though.
And after installing `lsb-release` I now have quotation marks:
Operating System Version:
"Fedora Linux 42 (Cinnamon)" (64 bit)

@sddt no it doesn't, mine lists F42 as the OS in that tool. Maybe older versions of steam or Fedora misreported it?You're right, my information reported now (see no quotes):

The article mentions that Fedora doesn’t show up in Valve’s stats of Steam users. This is because on Fedora the detected OS when you run the system info tool in Steam shows “Linux 6.3” or something generic like that.
I expect a significant portion of the “Other” category to be Fedora because of this.

Quoting: slaapliedjeClose to 6 years after I moved out of my old house, and 12 years after someone told me there would be fiber available there... a different company now has fiber there! Isn't that almost always the case? Seriously wish there were more competition in the ISP space...That's one thing some countries have managed better than others... here one company operates the infrastructure (but aren't allowed to run an ISP) and has to offer ISPs the same connection prices (set by an independent analysis of a fair return on investment). As a result, almost everyone (except for farms) has a choice of dozens of ISPs who compete on price, features, and service, but with the same underlying technology.

Quoting: BogomipsWell, the worst part is that the optical junction box is 1 meter away from the pavement in front of the house but the "pipe" leading to the house is crushed somewhere and was not well build 40 years ago so everything is cast in concrete.Common problem, easy solution. Cut a narrow trench in the footpath, fill it in after installation. :)

We may not be able to buy the Steam Deck here but at least the vast majority of the country has gigabit fibre available.

Quoting: Bogomipsit took me a week to rebuild my library downloading more than 200 GB of data with my poor bandwidth…That's rough, no fibre available where you are?

I will either buy the Ally if community Linux support improves, or buy the Steam Deck when it is available. Whichever happens first. :)

Quoting: TheRiddickThe SD here in Australia can be had for a large mark up with no warranty because their all imports.Agreed. The ROG Ally is actually cheaper here than the Steam Deck. And the Ally is sold by official retailers. The Steam Deck is only sold by parallel importers ("grey market") and drop shippers, and it isn't clear where they are getting their stock from. In USD terms it's over US$900.
Other companies are directly selling their handhelds in AU/NZ to customers, I don't really know whats going on with Valve since everyone around us can buy them.
