Fumbling around with tanks in War Thunder on Linux, some thoughts
23 Feb 2017 at 1:53 am UTC

I tried this a little while back, I played the Air portion which was fun, a lot of fun dog fights. the one thing that turn me off of this game is how everything seems segregated. plus there's no troop combat at all. this game has fantastic gameplay and graphics. If only we could have all the combat parts together on one map. with tactical points to capture.

this is awesome, I was really hoping to see this one get a port, now we just need Rome II: emperor edition and we are set.

looks to be a really great spiritual successor to planescape: torment.
i'm hoping one of these days i'll see BTCS2, I spent untold amount of hours making games on the original bard's tale construction set. unfortunately the internet was only in it's infancy back then.

Signs of Life, a sci-fi survival sandbox platformer officially adds Linux support

I seen that it had the Steam OS logo a little while ago, i guess that was the XNA port. So i grabbed it then, which it has ran fine. I remember it being a bit awkward to play and the animation is a bit stiff. but other than that it seems kind of fun.

Hearthlands, the cute city builder has a final release and it's great

it is in java so be sure to install the latest JRE if don't have it installed. OpenJDK works great.

the game has a lot of options for what sort of game you want to play, so you can make it super easy or super hard.

their are multiple factions that you are able to trade and go to war with. but you can't really seize their territory and use it. which is the one downside. you can only destroy them outright. which then leaves one less territory to trade with.

there's plenty of things to tackle on your own map besides having other territories to deal with. but all these can be turned off or on in the options before you play.

it's a really fun game.

this looks promising, I haven't seen anything that indicates Paladins could come to Linux so this could be the next best thing.

personally I only like using the primitive plus conversion on the original island or Center, I wished it would work on scorched earth. but I do like playing scorched earth a bit.
I've only been casually checking things out until they get a vulkan build, then I'll give it another go. Although in some ways ARK seems to be a bit obnoxious with the amount of added creatures and I don't know what to think of the tek teir stuff, I'm not to interested in all that.

Quoting: Xpander
Quoting: AryvandaarToo bad. I'm playing Conan Exiles atm.

Have fun though!
its not out for Linux. If it will ever be.
Looks good though, hopefully it will be released to linux at some day also and hopefully they make use of vulkan by then.
Funcom did leave a hint on twitter https://twitter.com/funcom/status/790630269699129348 [External Link]

Most likely it's a later on stretch goal after the official windows release. since they are using UE4 it shouldn't be to hard for them. Funcom has come a long way since their Anarchy Online days. but it will be their first Linux port if they do, so we'll have to wait and see how it goes. :)

Some thoughts on the Shadowrun series
23 Jan 2017 at 9:43 pm UTC

I like this reboot of Shadowrun. I've completed Returns and Dragonfall, both I liked a lot. I haven't gotten around to playing Hong Kong yet. I'm sure I will eventually. I wouldn't say it's the most engaging CRPG i've ever played but it is fun in a retro classic sort of way.

If someone could take Shadowrun and use something like the Creation Engine and make it an awesome non-linear sprawl like Skyrim with mod support and make it work on Linux then I'd call that the greatest Shadowrun game ever. but I'm not going to hold my breath :P

Planescape: Torment is one my all time favorites, It's boggled my mind why no sequel has been made.
after checking out that interactive video that makes me really want to play this game.
I'm going to be looking forward to getting this game. seems like an RPG that will be a lot of fun.
