Kerbal Space Program expansion 'Making History' announced with some fun new tools

I tried one of their free beta versions a long time ago. even though I really like sandbox games the original KSP didn't seem to have much for goals other than just seeing if you could get a hunk of metal to fly.
I hope they continue to add more expansions like this. It has finally peaked my interest :)

Quoting: rustybroomhandleSuch negativity. If I were a dev doing a Kickstarter reading all this, I'd probably just not bother trying to support Linux since it looks like Linux users are a bunch of cranky assholes that most likely won't support the Kickstarter to begin with.

We know this is not true though, but daaang does it ever look that way.

I will continue to support Kickstarters that look like they have promise, using my good judgement.
it only takes a couple of bad apples to spoil the whole bunch.
many kickstarter games have been backed by Linux users before with the promise of a Linux version. to only come up empty handed or end up waiting for a year or so after the windows release for the possibility of a Linux version.

Although there have been a number of decent games that came from kickstarter projects that use unity and had Linux and Mac versions developed alongside the windows version.
it's gotten to a point where if you don't want to be let down because of bad development choices, it's better to wait for at the very least a working alpha or beta build before supporting the game/project.

Quoting: neowiz73it's unique :) that's the main reason I like indie games. plus all the old school elements mixed with new style gameplay is really fun to me.
It's not just the new style gameplay here, you also get (relatively) modern lighting and fog effects in your pixel graphics. Something that could never be done in the actual pixel graphics days. I find that an interesting combination.
some story elements I've seen would not have even been considered 25 - 30 years ago. There's a reason why games back then like "Hero's Quest"(Quest for Glory after the lawsuit) and Leisure Suit Larry were such cult classics.

I really like Steam and GoG, etc... for the fact we can get more unique games that are willing to break the paradigm of cliches. I don't care for remakes of old games all that much. But it's nice to see ones that take an older idea and make it fresh again.

and most indies support Linux which is a nice bonus :)

I've liked how these truck driving sims are a bit more than just a truck driving sim. running your own business while playing is interesting.

seems quite nice if you only use a low to mid range laptop/desktop and want access to high-end games on a high-end system.

that 13.37% made me lol. I will admit, Feral is leet indeed.
I do hope we see this game ported though, I really enjoyed Shadow of Mordor.

Editorial: Steam Machines are not dead, plus a video from The Linux Gamer

I still think Valve is waiting for Vulkan to become more accepted and used before making another push with Steam Machines. But of course the development around Mesa recently has shown Valve sees the potential in development in this area as well.
Watch for the "Star Citizen (and/or squadron 42) plus Steam Machine & VR bundle" with the Vive in 2019/2020.

anything that has to do with the norse and viking lore/mythology i'm a glutton for. I really like dynamic RTS style of gameplay.
