Core Keeper 1.0 will bring new PvP, revamped world-gen and a mysterious new biome

We recently enjoyed games like Ruins of Tasos & Children Of Morta that *do* have split-screen so I was just thinking of this as a no-brainer.
When we played it was with an adult group of about 6-8 of us and it was so so fun that I wanted that for my kids.
I didn't take it as any kind of failed promise from the devs. Just wish it had been on the roadmap. :/

Quoting: nwildnerHmm. I guess it was more a matter of my hopes being dashed. I know the PC version doesn't have split-screen.Quoting: sherriwI love this game so much. Works great on Linux. We have 2 copies on Steam & I was planning to buy it on Switch for the kids when it comes out. But wow I was shocked to learn that the console version won't have split-screen multiplayer! If any recent game was absolutely perfect for split-screen it's this one. What to you mean "console version will not have?". Is there any information on the forums related with the PC version having split-screen available, or because you are assuming split-screen should be a must on consoles only?
Honest question here, no bashing :) I would love to see couch co-op on this game as well.

Quoting: GroganI somewhat resent that Valve made this game VR only. I bought the Half Life games and all the expansions and was thusly invested in it and I'd have liked another game. Especially after all that hype about Half Life 3, they come out with this and make it inaccessible to anyone that doesn't have the headgear. I don't ever plan to have a VR headset, I don't think it would be good for me.I feel exactly the same. I had all the old games & expansions plus a re-buy for Xbox. The fact that they made this VR-only was a huge slap in the face.
Few games are "VR only", most devs realize that it's better to have a larger audience.
Enough resentment that I don't want to reward the game with a purchase, and use a third party mod so I can play it (that might be fragile come game update time, too)
So, I salute these guys for doing it.
