Given that people seem to fall into two camps good or bad on it, I do personally think promoting some form of AI-free certification might well get more people what they want.

@scaine
Why is code generation trivial while "art, music and voice acting" is inherantly important? Is a pathfinding algorithim truly more trivial than a rock texture or a water splash sound? Surely if its objectionable for one it is also for the latter. My biggest beef with a lot of AI reactions is the implicit deifying of "creative" work in comparison to anything else that has been automated. Artists deserve a living, but they are not unique in that.

I really have no opinion on Aspyr, but why all the love for Nightdive? They haven't thrown Linux a bone in half a decade and most of their catalogue have source ports, making remastering them worse than pointless. And them having the gall to outright alter Heretic. Not a fan.

@Alm888
The answer is a well maintained native version should be superior to Proton. The problem is not all such versions have been well maintained. It is like how a C++ application should be faster than Python (and assembly faster than C), but depending on how good the programmer is mileage will vary. A shim or interpeter inherently introduces overhead, but sometimes works as good or even better than something on a lower level but improperly executed.

@Avehicle7887
They wouldn't need to support all Linux though. Just desktop SteamOS.
