Great! :)

Btw, do they have to pay license fees to id/Bethesda?
I know that the Quake engine is oss for a long time.
But how about commercial projects?

The Humble Indie Bundle 20 is now officially live!

Tooth and Tail looks amazing like it could be just my cup of tea.
How did I miss this?

We have soooooo many games on Linux by now, that you miss out gems without even knowing they exist. :/
There was a time I could name 99 % of all commercial native Linux games.
It's good and bad at the same time.

Edit:

Tooth and Tail runs awfully slow on my Haswell notebook. :/
(Graphic settings lowered ofc.)

Edit2:

TaT runs smooth like butter on Windows 10.
Same machine. :/
Game is based on the XNA engine.
Is this a known issue?

Humble Store has a Square Enix sale with some top Linux games going cheap

Quoting: Perkeleen_VittupääGood steals. But who does not yet own those!?
Me. I've only got Tomb Raider and the mobile version of Lara Croft GO.

Quoting: AsuSquare! Please put any final fantasy on linux. Preferably FFVII.
I'd be down for VI, IX, the remaster of X, and/or XII. I do know VII runs well with Proton at least.
I played the FF7 PC version back then and I LOVED it.

Yet, while other games from my youth (NES + SNES) typically aged well graphically, FF7 is a pain to me.
I'd like to see a remake on PC/SteamOS but def not the original version.

And now for something completely different:

Let's talk about our pile of shame.

Quoting: subHow does DOOM (2016) fit here?

id Tech 6 supports OpenGL and Vulkan.

So how does Proton (which uses DXVK, right?) come into play?

Btw, does WINE support Vulkan by now?
"Proton" is basically Wine + various patches + DXVK. DXVK is (originally) designed for DX11 -> Vulkan translation. It isn't used at all for any games that natively use OpenGL or Vulkan, so for those games (e.g Doom), think of "Proton" as just Wine + various patches.
Ah, I see. Thanks.

So Vulkan is properly supported by WINE as a pass through by now?

Quoting: subWhy not Dirt Rally 2.0?

Is Codemasters against a simultaneous Linux release?

Don't get me wrong. It's not that DiRT 4 is a bad game (I don't know) but it doesn't help the platform, if AAA game ports usually appear years later (if at all). Reception outside hard-core Linux gamers is that the platform is not worth to be served on release.
I'm sure I read something somewhere that Feral actually has to buy the rights to port a game to be able to do the ports. If that's true then it would explain older games being ported as they would be cheaper.

Don't quote me on that though, I could be wildly off base. Liam might recall something.
Yes, I also considered this case. :)
