Dying Light Released For Linux, Some Thoughts, You May Want To Wait
27 January 2015 at 2:13 pm UTC

QuoteIt's a quad core 940 BE.
Not quite a new CPU, yet still powerful enough
judging from the Windows version.

The port is just crap and apparently Aspyr doesn't have time
to improve on the "older" ports. Getting new ports out seems to
have higher priority.

I guess it's both; AMD's Catalyst is not as good as Nvidia's proprietary driver
AND/BUT companies don't care enough to improve performance on AMD GPU's.
After all - as I said many times - it got far too easy to get away blaming AMD and
don't invest further time on the issues.
It seems almost everyone will immediately buy the argument that it's AMD's fault.
Easy standing for the developers, isn't it?

Has anyone with an AMD GPU tried Dying Light?

I have an HD R9 270x, and get a white screen with music. I assume I am in the main menu but not really sure.

Quoting: GoCorinthiansPre-loading asking 10GB more! equals windows!

Yes! I was getting a bit worried that the Linux pre-load was only 2.8gb, started steam this morning and downloading 10 more! worrying a little less now.

Just pre ordered it, the weird thing is the pre-load download is 2.8gb? It seems a little small for a game that says it requires 40gb... unless they actually know how to compress a download! :O

This looks really good, I meet the recommended CPU and am over the minimum GPU, so I will probably try this, though I actually have never played a zombie game before... look interesting. And same day release!

The graphics are just amazing, but does the "Guardian" character look a little too familiar to any one else?

This should be interesting, I recently started playing PA again. I also re bought it again, found the disc in a store. I thought that was kind of cool so I picked it up and seen "PC/MAC/LINUX" on the top left of the box, and Linux requirements on the back of it and bought it. :D

Quoting: n30p1r4t3Isn't steamos still on 3.10?

Yeah, that is what it looks like on their GitHub page.
If it is SteamOS that their are showing, it is weird how they don't actually say "SteamOS" though

Quoting: StianTheDarkI never got this survey popup, so I think there's something fishy about Steam Hardware Surveys..

I haven't gotten the survey in Linux either, three times on WINE though...
