REMOTE CONTROL looks like Alien: Isolation if it was a retro-styled typing adventure

Quoting: Doktor-MandrakeIt's amazing how fast these guys are getting these recomps out

What I particularly like is how they let the user upscale but then downsample back to native res. Far better then just bumping up the internal res!
How'd you do that?
It's in the settings menu, under graphics, downsampling quality

You can bring up the settings menu ingame as well by pressing the 'back/select' button on your controller

The controller can work with any game compatible with the Steam Overlay.
I don't understand. Does the controller in any way rely on Steam Overlay being active? 🤔
I'm curious as to what this means as well

Sounds like the controller might be dependant on steam input maybe

AMD say the Steam Machine is "on track" for an early 2026 release

I do hope the steam machine will succeed, due to pricing and the current world climate I do worry it will struggle

Definitely buying a steam controller 2, I'll be using the 2.4ghz dongle with it, neat that you can use the dongle to charge the controller as well

Quoting: MinoscerebMy use case for Lutris over Heroic is for those game setup files I find laying on the ground after they fell off a truck full of game setup files. The customizability shines better there, even if both programs are capable of the same end results eventually.

I have almost completely switched to Heroic for no good reason other than "I like it", and I too find old setups that have fallen off of the back of the truck from time to time. You can install them fine with Heroic. It is as simple as Add Game -> Select Executable (or installer) and go.
I'm referring more to the community scripts on lutris

Take something like Quake for example, that might only include the windows version, lutris will give options to install linux source ports, or automatically apply fixes to old games. Heroic doesn't have such feature AFAIK.

Another reason I like to keep both around is because they both seem to handle controller inputs differently. I've had some games where controller doesn't register on heroic, but registers on lutris

Granted I could just add it as a nonsteam game and enable steam input, but that kind of defeats the purpose for me having drm free games not reliant on a closed platform

Quoting: MinoscerebI like the look of Heroic, it's a lot better designed visually than Lutris and feels more user friendly, but since Lutris can run all the stores Heroic can, and at least for GoG has access to lots of useful scripts for things like mods or just actual playability, I don't see a use case for Heroic for myself. I'm curious where other people fall on this though. Have I missed something about Heroic?
Heroic has experimental cloud save support for gog games which is my main reason to use it

I like lutris for the setup scripts for old gamss

I picked up the LCD model over Christmas and been struggling to put it down, definitely want to get an oled model in the future

I am concerned the steam machine won't be as successful

It's going to be tough on valve releasing new hardware with the current climate, but I hope both the MACHINE and the frame will bring them good fortune because they both look cool

I will be getting one of those new steam controllers though, least I can afford that lol

Looking at that 'Odyssey Mario's Moveset' it does seem to require manual building for native linux, the precompiled version is windows/wine only
