Quoting: GuestThe trailer makes that game seem awfully hardcore. There’s no chance I’m buying this without checking the difficulty with a demo first. Musical games are often way too difficult. This one is so addictive that you end up mastering the relatively high difficulty level anyways ;)

Seems like with a newer version of the nvidia driver and bumblebee it is working for some. See the bug-report in the steam Aow3 beta1.5 forums. But 331.113 is the latest easily available on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Well maybe it is just me, but I have huge rendering issues both on my intel-GPU (sandy-bridge, with mesa drivers out of Kubuntu 14.04 64bit) and also, but less so, on my Nvidia optimus card running through bumblebee.
Seem like the developers are looking into these issues though.
Performance wise it seems equally bad as on Windows ;) Quite playable though.

The best experience I had was with the "xboxdrv", which basically fools the system into thinking the PS3 pad is a xbox360 pad. But if you buy a new pad get a xbox360 pad or something really compatible for sure!
Oh, btw. support for PS3 pads under Windows is even worse, so I guess one can say it works "well" under Linux ;)

Quoting: codyaj1995My ps3 controller works out of the box, with no need to install a driver! I have tried a xbox controller with no luck...I have a unofficial PS3 pad (usb), and while there is support for it out of the box technically, it really isn't a smooth experience at all. There is no working standard config and most games do not work properly with it unless you spend a lot of time fiddling with the configuration.

Ok DG2 has a bit of an odd control scheme and it doesn't seem better than part one, but not really worse either. I guess a solid 70% title to rate it from the hour or so I have played so far. Runs on my Nvidia Optimus system with Kubuntu 14.04 really well also, so get it if you like tower defence games (at least at the discounted price).

Defense Grid 2 is also 50% off and the first part (no Linux port) was great. Will check it out later once the download has finished.

Oh and Warlock2 is really much more like Civ5 and barely resembles a game like HOMM :p
