The new Steam Controller from Valve is out now - some early thoughts
4 May 2026 at 5:33 pm UTC Likes: 6

Quoting: detroutAnyone else having trouble buying a steam controller?

Is there a digital thundering herd buying them all?
Just keep hammering the continue button until it lets you through. If you end up accidentally ordering 300 extra controllers, sell the rest on Ebay with a $5 markup.

...no more than $5 though. Don't be that guy.

Quoting: EWGIf a higher price tags equates to higher quality builds and wages for those making it, then I'd be happy to eat a few more peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and wait another pay cheque if necessary to buy something.
You make it sound like having more PB&J sandwiches is a bad thing.

I’ll tell you right now that it is not.

Quoting: Liam DaweWhen I eventually get one, it will be the true size test. I have tiny hands.
In the meanwhile, Linus Tech Tips did a review of it, who also has small hands. The size itself is roughly comparable to an XBox controller, but he did complain about the span between the edge of the controller, and the analog sticks.

It's not a dealbreaker for me (I have regular non-gnomish hands), but I could see how it could be an issue for some.

Oh lord above, IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!

Quoting: rea987Too big for my taste.
It's actually not that big, if we go by the hands on pic in this article.

...unless he's a giant or something.

Quoting: eggroleMy monitor is only 1440 and while I'm sure I'll go to 4K someday, it won't be any time soon.
Same here. I think of 1440p as being the happy medium between 1080p and 4k, giving you a slightly crisper image, without the overhead that 4k requires.

When it comes to games, I can play at 1080p without complaint. I'm not exactly the most difficult person to please on this front. I mean sure, I can see the difference 4k makes, but it's not so much better that I feel the need to spend $1500+ on a new GPU.

In a literal sense. I don't have a problem with EGS one way or the other, yet I haven't heard about this game even once until just now.

I'm disappointed by the lack of double entendres in the headline. Consider this post a sternly worded letter to the editor.

Shame. RCU was an awesome game I thought didn't get the recognition it deserved.
