Overall, I'd say Silksong starts to ramp up the difficult earlier than Hollow Knight, but, thus far anyway, it hasn't yet hit the ultra hard highs that the original did. I think I'm closing in on the end game, and I've yet to see anything as brutal as the Path of Pain yet.

Hornet is still so weak right now, she just feels SO fragile, and the bosses taking two hearts just for even the slightest mistake is brutality. This is something that lasts throughout the game. You can mitigate it somewhat with mask pieces and pins, but you'll always be pretty fragile.

So, you typically lay on your belly like a snake, with your elbows rested on a pillow in front of the TV with the controller docked, showing your ass crack off from having your pants a bit too low for comfort....yeah, that's me maxin' and relaxin'.

…and there's a 400 shell limit (not that that second currency seems to matter much)It will a little later, though even then, it’s still plenty generous. The only way you’ll run short of them is if you’re doing a single difficult part over and over and over again, and you don’t stop to refresh them by killing random enemies between attempts.

I finally managed to get it through Humble Bundle about an hour or so ago. Now that I've spent some time with the game, I can say that it's very awesome, but if you didn't like Hollow Knight, you won't like this.
It is, for all intents and purposes, a more acrobatic Hollow Knight with a higher budget behind it. It feels faster and better put together, likely due to the developers now having more experience under their belt, but it's still Hollow Knight through and through.
...AND I LOVE IT! :D

Quoting: garrettlChoosing Vulkan directly didn't work, but I didn't try experimental or GE yet, just the latest version of standard Proton 8.I ran the Vulkan rev on my now ancient Geforce 970ti using both the latest Proton-GE, and Experimental, and it worked fine. I believe the developers would prefer people use Vulkan to play the game, but from my, admittedly unscientific very half-assed experimentations, I didn't notice much of a difference in quality or performance.
