Quoting: EhvisI'd be happy to help testing. I'm on Ubuntu 17.04 and my PC specs viewable, so you can check whether it adds to the diversity for testers.
And we have 3 :D 2 slots left <3
[for now at least]
I'd love to jump on board to help find Linux specific bugs and crashes! :P

Ballistic Overkill updated as promised with Vulkan, but it's now completely broken (UPDATED with temp fix)

Here's how it runs on i7-4790k and GTX1070 using Vulkan. Both 8xMSAA and like pre-Vulkan FXAA:

There's still a lot of room for improvement.

Quoting: DMGI do not think, it is ARK fault. I did not see any video, where someone had similar issues, but I see them a lot. And ARK is not only game with such glitches. I have similar issue with Master of Orion, where main character has no face and developers said this driver fault.
Please re-post the issues you're having as they're not available for everyone.

ARK is a phuked up piece of s?#t on Linux and no amount of nVidia optimizations is going to fix it. The developers have even stated on multiple occasions that they "don't have time" for Linux version, meaning that they just don't care.
If the devs don't care about that crap, nor should you. :\

This is not a rant against you or anyone who wants to play ARK, it's a great concept of a game. However the developers are just i(¤&#s who don't care for jack about their product nor do they have any vision of where they want to go with it.

Well that's one game and development studio I won't be buying anything from. Good luck!

I would expect them to up the texture resolution - looks muddy atm. Also the mouse character's voice seemed a bit off in comparison to other voices... but other than that, looks decent.

Linux gamers on Arch may want to hold off on updating due to openssl breaking some games (updated)

Quoting: manero666I was suffering this issue since Superposition came out as I was one of the few that wasn't able to run it (I have the testing repos enabled).
There is an easy fix: install libopenssl-1.0-compat [External Link] from the AUR and then load that specific library
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/openssl-1.0-compat/

Now I'm able to run Superposition (at 10fps lol)

ps. mind that there is a key to import, check the aur page for more info
Liam should add this to the article! Otherwise it gets lost in the comments!
Downgrading is a silly option which I did at first, broke all the SSL as the older versions are no longer accepted by pacman. With manual fixing you can revert, but this is much cleaner and should be added as a workaround until the fix has been released.

ARK: Survival Evolved has a major update with a needed UI refresh

Quoting: SlickMcRunFastValve needs to limit how long a game can be in early access.
An interesting idea. Based on ARK, the early access model seems to be pretty much for the convenience not to continuously develop the linux and mac versions which they already have in the wild. Every time someone from Studio Wildcard actually responds to anything linux/mac related, is when they remind that the title is still in early access.
How long will it be in EA? Probably for a good 5 years more by the looks of how the things are going.

1 year limit on the EA program through Steam should be a pretty good motive to get things done.
On the other hand, it could push the developers to release a half-baked title with much of the content missing which could arrive at a later date via DLC - now that I don't like to see. But that's all pure speculation.
