But SoH is a port of OoT, and this is a port of MM. Did you perhaps mean 2Ship2Harkinian (aka SoH2)?

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered revealed, it's out now and Steam Deck Verified

I don't get all the negative comments here. A major game release from a major franchise, working flawlessly on day 1 on Linux - I mean, how cool is that?

And I'll probably get downvoted for saying this (oh wait, this isn't Reddit), but I always felt Oblivion was a superior game to Skyrim (better spell system and spell crafting, better quests, beter atmosphere, better UI etc (except leveling, which is admitted better in Skyrim, but thankfully this is no longer an issue now)), so I for one am super excited to see this remaster. I've also never fully clocked Oblivion, so I'm really looking forward to my first vanilla playthru, with no mods to distract me. Also happy to report that it's been running flawlessly on my GPD Win Mini 2024, running CachyOS.

ProtonUp-Qt v2.12 brings a new Steam Deck theme and support for Proton-CachyOS
6 Apr 2025 at 10:34 pm UTC

Some binaries benefit from things like AVX2 in v3 a lot more than others, and the fact that something else on the system uses v2 doesn't change that fact.
Not sure what you're trying to say here. But regardless, the MARCH was just one of the optimisations CachyOS does, they also do PGO and LTO for eg.

Anyway, my original point still stands, I don't see the point in Protonup-RS including proton-cachyos in their list, when the primary audience is people who use optimised system libs (be it MARCH and/or PGO/LTO), which at this point is mainly only CachyOS users (and maybe Clear Linux, but who still uses that?).

ProtonUp-Qt v2.12 brings a new Steam Deck theme and support for Proton-CachyOS

Hmm, the including of Proton-CachyOS is strange. The main benefit of Proton-CachyOS is being able to use the native system libraries, which on CachyOS, is optimised for your CPU family.

If you're on Cachy (or Arch with Cachy repos), you can just get proton-cachyos from the repos, if you don't have it already.

If you're on other distros, there's not much point in using it, compared to say Proton GE because your system libs are just vanilla x86 or v2 at best...

Proton Experimental adds fixes for GTA V Enhanced and more for Linux / Steam Deck
21 Mar 2025 at 10:47 am UTC

Does anyone know if this continues your saved game from Legacy (on Linux)? I know Proton GE had a feature which lets a game access the previous/older games's saves, but I don't recall seeing GTA V Enhanced on GE's changelogs (besides the recent GetDpiAwarenessContextForProcess patch).

SteamOS-like Bazzite Linux has some nice growth thanks to great handheld PC support

Perhaps a silly question but could Bazzite be a good replacement for SteamOS on a Steam Deck?
Does it do anything better?
Yes, it does pretty much everything better. Like for starters it has a more recent and optimised Linux kernel (+ related packages like the graphics drivers), which typically means better performance, as the Linux kernel and gfx drivers just keep getting better and better ever release. On top of that, there are various tweaks, such as custom CPU schedulers for more consistent frametimes and better multitasking. There's tons of more stuff - so much so that this comment box can't do justice to it - so just check their Github page [External Link] and check it out for yourself. :)

The glibc 2.41 update has been causing problems for Linux gaming

I usually default to using Proton to play games that even have Linux builds available if I can.
As they say, the most stable API on Linux is the Win32 API...

Classic Diablo game engine DevilutionX improves gamepad support, gets lots of bug fixes
10 Feb 2025 at 2:20 pm UTC

Like @Leahi84, I played Diablo 2 first, and was never able to get into D1. DevilutionX and other mods definitely add some much-needed QoL features which makes it palatable, but the one thing I haven't seen yet (in a DevilutionX compatible mod), is a mod that allows you to run in dungeons. The movement speed is so slow, it's a huge turn off for me, especially since D2 and pretty much every other ARPG since then have all had running or a fast movement mechanism. So D1 in comparison seems like the odd one out in this genre, which is ironic, considering that it practically invented the genre.

So I ask the D1 fans here, do you know to any compatible mod which adds running (or fast walking)? And please don't say Belzebub or Tchernobog mods, because they alter the game way too much. I just want a vanilla+ experience, with running.

AMD reveals AMDGPU Composition Stack, a fork of Wayland's Weston compositor for advancing the Linux desktop

Hopefully AMD can sort out the issue with HDMI 2.1 support.

Spent £3K on a TV and GPU but cannot use VRR or FREESYNC features due to a lack of driver support.

This problem may force me to drop AMD in favour of Nvidia. I do not want to do this though.
@finaldest You could always use a DP->HDMI adapter/cable which supports VRR, instead of switching to nVidia.
