That said, I put in quite a few hours into this game when it came out. Haven't played it in over 4 years. Didn't even realized it was EA, until now. Is it worth going back to it?

Quoting: morgancoxukI played it on a R9 380 when it came out, bought that in 2015. No issues.Quoting: PyreticCongrats to the team on the full release! Can anyone chime in on how this plays on Linux compared to Windows?Linux version performs brilliantly as long as you choose Vulkan (not openGL) and have a card from the last 4 - 5 years.
Ive tested it on
- (old card, what a beast it was..) nvidia 1060 (6GB)
- 7800 XT (16GB) - play highest settings - and getting 180 fps.
Not sure about arc support (never tried it)

Microsoft's Rog Xbox Ally can play Steam games, that also means PS PC ports. I know Sony don't like that idea. Their games on a MS console....nope! 😁

Quoting: matiaslavikIt's true what they say: AI is really transforming the game industry!I'll just go back and play games from the last 40 years before this AI craziness started. Should keep me busy for a while.
... In a year or two, we'll only be playing software rendered pseudo-3D games, because nobody can afford modern hardware.

I would rather it was not part of the browser, altogether. Rather give an AI option as an addon/extension for those that want it. And why opt-out and not opt-in.
I already moved on. Installed Waterfox a few months ago, to test, and I'm actually enjoying it.

I would imagine that somewhere long the upward trajectory, that MS would've started to become a little worried, but seems they are just too pigheaded.

Quoting: scaineI'd LOVE to see an Arch-based distro that give us a store-like experience for updates and software installs. It's frustrating that Arch is so obtuse that even tools like Discover (KDE's appstore) is "not recommended for use with Arch-based distros".Manjaro got Pamac, that is a great store.
I'm on CachyOS now and it ships with Octopi, but that has multiple problems - the interface is probably worse than Synaptic, a thing I didn't believe possible. It doesn't handle the AUR, and it doesn't know about Flatpak. CachyOS does provide a one-stop "upgrade" tool (open a terminal and type "upgrade", ha!), but no GUI exists.
It's a problem, and one that's hand-waved away by dedicated Arch users who say "just use the terminal". I'm fine doing so, but it means that I wouldn't recommend an Arch distro to anyone, ever. You try Arch, tentatively, after years of Linux exposure, and you might still bounce of it because of this.
So, yeah, so frustrating. Powerful software, like Arch, shouldn't be (this) difficult to use.
The RAM price and availability situation is going to worsen as Micron pull their Crucial consumer business

I just wonder, how much ram does these AI companies or AI data centers actually/really need. I can't fathom that they need so much that the whole worlds supply is impacted.

Quoting: M@GOidThe Memory Mafia (Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology) are behind this. In February of this year they were on the news saying they will reduce production, because there was oversupply and market prices were too low. So they created this scarcity to make prices go up. I hope they rot in hell.Kinda make sense. We saw it in meat prices as well. One chicken sneezes on the otehrside of the world and all of a sudden prices hikes this side of the world.

Seems we are having a resurgence of bundle sites, like 10/15 years ago. We were spoiled with choices then.
I actually liked Humble bundle back then, before IGN took over. Got a lot of $1 and $12 bundles back then. Bought very little since IGN took over.
