UK CMA blocks the Microsoft takeover of Activision

Quoting: BumadarIt is the long run where the money is, get so many people on windows/xbox/gamepass that it will become unavoidable and even epic or steam won't be able to compete against a gamepass on which almost every game will be included for a crazy cheap amount and that is scary for anybody who wants atleast some competition and an open market.
You're actually missing the actual long term end game: And then, after running all competitors out of business with pricing at a loss, once there is no competition the prices get jacked up again and then some.

We're seeing this everywhere these days, so many spaces where there are few enough competitors, that they could all quietly agree to jack up the prices together. That's why groceries are so expensive.

Quoting: spayder26You know? Putting money to get something without knowing what you're getting because of the unlikely possibility of getting something valuable is called gambling.

And I won't be supporting gambling.
100% agreed, I think there's even laws in my country that forbids online ga,bling wothout proper authorization, but somehow they don't consider those 'bundles' gambling, go figure why.
Well, typically gambling is a thing where you put in money, and you have a chance of getting something back but you are likely to get nothing.

With these bundles, you put in money, and you get something back. And while it's uncertain just what specifically that will be, there is a reasonable argument to be made that whatever you get will normally match some plausible standard of value for money--that someone (not necessarily you, but someone) would have paid that much for those goods if they already knew what they were getting. So I don't think it's quite the same. Not that I'm going to buy one, mind you.

Is this for real? You do know that this is designed to kill people, not in a cs-fashion but for real. And all with the currently f'ed up narrative and politics, you are cracking jokes with it.

I can not believe this, what a shame.
Are you suggesting we treat the Russian invading army of genocidal psychopaths with respect?
They're perfectly ordinary people, just like the American armies that invaded Iraq and Afghanistan and are still occupying part of Syria are made up of perfectly ordinary people.
I really think there should be a line drawn between saying "Russian foreign policy is fucked up" and being racist about Russians.

My opinions on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the connections to NATO (both before and after the fact) are complex. But this is still cool. No matter what the geopolitics behind an invasion, it's still an invasion, the invaded are going to fight back, and it's interesting that they find the Steam Deck useful in doing so. Who knows? Maybe there are Russian soldiers doing the exact same thing. This is really about the functionality, not the politics.

Arch Linux, Tumbleweed and Pop are usually the pioneers. Maybe Nobara as well but I am not sure.
Thinking of Pop! I was wondering, shouldn't there be a Snap! and Crackle! OS?

It is good to see High Dirigible Reusability coming to Linux. Too many people just treat their dirigibles as disposable, another tragedy of unnecessary waste. Littered dirigibles can float away and become entangled in wind turbines, or smother bird nesting sites.

In other words, what's HDR?
