Quoting: slaapliedjeI'd love to see a David Finch or Quentin Tarantino Star Trek Movie...

Not a Star Trek movie because it's way too serious, and a Tarentino version will be hated by a lot of Star Trek fans. But yes, I'm eager for a sci-fi Tarentino movie!
Nah, Tarantino is a huge Star Trek fan and has laid out the sort of movie he'd make in some interview, had some great ideas.

Unity introduces new fees for game devs based on revenue and game installs

Quoting: hell0Also does unity aggregate the number of install themselves, then bill the devs based on it? Sounds convenient, can I also bill my company based on my 25h/day -self determined- work schedule?

Linux Mint Debian Edition 6 'Faye' enters Beta

Quoting: slaapliedjeHonest question; what do they do different that would make me want to switch to Mint DE over just Debian? Debian has a much more flexible installer (still one of the best if you need software raid, or anything funky).
Probably nothing that would make you want to switch to Mint DE (or any other kind of Mint). But I don't want flexible or anything funky, I want simple no muss no fuss. And I want all my media to already work, and all that kind of stuff.
As a side note, I don't actually use Cinnamon. I use Mate.

I don't use it but I'm glad it exists, 'cause if odd things happen with Ubuntu I could end up still able to use Mint thanks to its existence.

Quoting: NodFun fact. This game was ported to Linux by Loki in 2000. I am a proud owner of the box set and played it at the time.
Yup. Likewise. Not that I can get it to work these days.

There is a docker container just for launching old loki games here: https://github.com/lutris/asgard/

Although not on the list smac(x) works.
Oh, cool. I should give that a whirl.

QuoteAlso included is in this release is Enhanced Barriers, but there's no games shipping with it so it's not well tested yet.
OK, I don't even know what this is. But I think the mere fact that VKD3D-Proton is supporting things before there are even any games that use them is a pretty good sign. Chasing taillights my ass.

Gotta hand it to them, sounds like they really went for it trying to get things right.

Hmmm . . . Gordian Quest . . . so it's about solving problems by cutting things in half.

Quoting: eldarionA pitty they will work on multiplayer before all single player features.

I don't really care about multiplayer myself, either, but for a feature like that, it is extremely useful from a development perspective to bake it in as close to the beginning as possible, rather than trying to add it in after the fact. That way you don't discover right near the end that you've made some fundamental assumptions early on which make implementation that much more difficult, etc. IMO it's a good idea to be doing it so early.
I suspect having it is also a good way of making sure everything else works even if you don't have the AI working properly, because you can play out full games without the AI.
