Guess they must be losing too much money over it so they are starting the cuts. Kinda sad that they even need to do that though, you'd think they could easily swallow the costs considering how disgustingly rich and large they are as a corporation due to their monopoly.
Atari acquires Transport Tycoon from Chris Sawyer

The real problem is if Sawyer ever takes the rights to RCT away from Atari. Apparently he's extremely hostile to OpenRCT2's existence and will go after it if Atari ever loses the rights. So it's in everybody's best interest that Atari keeps the rights, or is able to outright purchase the rest of his games from him.

Quoting: soulsourceI hope this isn't bad news for the OpenTTD project.I don't believe it'll be a problem. They've known about OpenRCT2 and OpenTTD for awhile now and not had a problem.

Loved this game when I played a translated rom back in the 2000s. Definitely will pick it up!
In case anyone's interested since Halloween is upon us, this game is very loosely based on an 80s Italian horror film called Phenomena. It starred Jennifer Connelly and is a pretty good film. The character in this game was designed to look like her.

Since ProtonDB is mentioned, can anyone tell me why no games have been added to it since the end of 2023? Was the site put into maintenance mode or something? The last game it says was added was Blue Protocol in December 2023.

Quoting: BeamboomBecause free anything goes against their capitalistic principals and is an affront to them?Quoting: Leahi84What I don't understand is why are these companies so hostile towards Linux? This is such a common misconception. They are not hostile. Why should a corporation be hostile against anything really.
They are ignorant towards Linux, that's what they are. The Linux segment is so miniscule, and the cheating problem so massive, so the potential loss is nothing compared to not holding the cheaters at bay.

What I don't understand is why are these companies so hostile towards Linux? It seems completely illogical for late stage capitalist corporations to turn away potential earnings no matter how small when their investors demand endless growth.

I just don't get the appeal in these games. I tried one and it was just way too stressful, ended up refunding it.

Quoting: EikeI guess in addition I prefer the high end graphics and resolution my PC and 1440 monitor gives me, so it's just not interesting to me to play that stuff in a smaller screen with graphics turned down. To each their own.Quoting: Leahi84I don't have a Steam deck myself as I'm not a fan of portable gaming at all (Don't even play games on my Pixel phone) and don't want to play games unless its on my PC, but I'm glad for my nephew who hasn't been able to get one down there yet.I wouldn't even ponder the idea of playing with my phone. But having a small Linux PC to play on the sofa or in the bed on the other hand...

Still though, most of the IA's works are a massive benefit to all of humanity and attacking them like this is really terrible. It kinda reminds me of those idiots who glue themselves to paintings to protest climate change, and I wonder if all of them are just false flag operators trying to discredit the cause they claim to be championing. ...Maybe I just played too much Deus Ex.What... This is a thing?? This is the first I've heard of it. Good god that sounds ridiculous and infuriating. The last thing we need is people discrediting something that will lead to the extinction of humans.
