I REALLY don't like gnome. It looks too much like something Apple would make. I'll be sticking with KDE for the far foreseeable future.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company file lawsuit against Palworld maker Pocketpair

This is so ridiculous. I hope they can beat Nintendo in court. Nintendo is a freaking bully and hates their customers. Long history of hostile action over even things like fanart. I've refused to give this company money.

Can't say I've heard of ANY of these games, so for me its no big loss as most of them sound like shovelware. I've already got one of my favorite game's ever, Lucas Art's Afterlife from there, so I don't need any other games from them. Though Bethesda's Delta V, Terminator Future Shock/SkyNET, and Terminator 2029 would be nice.

Quoting: Pengling
Quoting: XvR103This... looks bad. Literally nothing good happens when crypto is involved, I thought we already learned this lesson. From what I'm seeing on reddit there has already been people during the past couple of months warning about signs of something very fishy going on with this project. Many question asked and just "trust me bro" as the answer for everything. WTF is the Lutris dev doing here? Does he really need the money so badly? Seeing this I worry about the future of Lutris even more now. And I see Square-Enix is involved... the same Square-Enix that sold Tomb Raider and Deus Ex to invest in crypto...
Earlier reports on the project have revealed plenty of eyebrow-raising things, too - for example, claiming that Fortnite and Roblox wouldn't have to worry about their anti-cheat being hacked because Fedora Silverblue is immutable, whilst simultaneously claiming that there'd be an AI assistant from Perplexity that will play your games for you if you get stuck (rather incompatible with anti-cheat, methinks), along with the first announced handheld using it being strangely focussed on "Web 3.0"/"blockchain" stuff and talking about the OS as if that's what it's for. And there were some shenanigans with a video sent to the press using content that wasn't theirs, too.

Too many red flags, for me.
This worries me too. I don't want to be skeptical, but I can't help it with this. I hope I'm wrong and that this stuff like crypto and ai ends up falling to the wayside as the project develops, but I just have a really bad feeling that this could end up being a bad thing for the Linux gaming community.

And if/when this falls apart will these devs be willing to pick up the separate pieces and continue on like before or will they quit because they were used to getting paid?

I initially got excited when I first was reading it, but that feeling quickly diminished. This feels suspect for sure.

Watched a video about this a few months ago. Felt totally inspired by the world in the manga BLAME. Looking forward to it.

Hate all you want. I believe it's going to do REALLY well. There's TONS of hype for this right now with everyone I know and the BioWare/dragon age communities.

Then again, you would generally expect that sort of thing from a big game getting a PC release.
Really? I'm not sure with how many poorly optimized ports have been coming out. It feels like there are a lot of companies releasing games without putting that level of work in, IMO.

I'm SO excited for this I cant stand it. I've waited 10 years for this game. I love the Dragon Age series, and the fact that I'll be able to play it on Linux makes me SUPER happy. I'm also happy that even though my computer is a few years old, I'll likely be able to run it decently, unlike some recent games that were unplayable.
