NVIDIA Beta driver 580.65.06 released for Linux with bug fixes and expanded Wayland support
19 Aug 2025 at 1:06 pm UTC

This driver has been released as "stable" even though there was a bug report for it during BETA in which all GTK4 applications running with the Vulkan backend (defalut) crash when being closed, closing Nautilus brings the whole session down on GNOME. It hasn't been patched. So if you use GNOME, stay away from this bomb for a while.

It CAN be "fixed" by setting the GSK_RENDERER=ngl environment variable for falling back to the OpenGL backend.
