Unlikely Nintendo can do much unless you actually try sending over the game with the ROM.
Then again, Yuzu didn't break any laws and Nintendo still threatened them with no legal basis in doing so. So evidently they're well above the law and can sue whoever they feel like blaming for their problems that day.

Valve fixes Baldur's Gate 3 issue on Steam Deck / SteamOS

I honestly can't comprehend why people keep bothering with 'Native Linux'
PC ports used to be broken as hell in the 2000's, should they have stopped porting games to PC and instead relied on Valve to make an Xbox 360 emulator for their storefront? It'd give better compatibility after all and put less strain on the developers.

It's a shame they've chosen to do that. The desktop Linux market is significantly bigger than the Deck market.
I agree, hope this is temporary. Baldur's Gate 3 runs like complete garbage through Proton to me. Like a third of the game's total CPU usage is just Wine services, the audio is constant crackling with a little bit of the game audio mixed in and it has all kinds of extremely distracting visual bugs I imagine are brought about by Proton as well.

Honestly if anything, the Steam Deck is the one device that DOESN'T need a native port.

Cronos: The New Dawn releases today - Steam Deck Verified with Linux support

Native game from BLOOBER TEAM? That's really unexpected! They haven't made native games since like Layers of Fear. Hopefully they keep at it, I love nati-
The native Linux version sadly does not support...fsr or xess like the Windows version does.
I wouldn't care for ray tracing, but as the negative reviews mostly are due to performance, some scaling might help here...
Aaaaand it's worthless. Don't do Unreal Engine, kids. Still probably buying it just to show support (definitely not at full price though lmfao) but god there's always an asterisk with a game going native with Unreal isn't there? Always Unreal specifically too, other engines are usually fine. Why can't it just be a good engine for 2 seconds?

Just wanna put this out there -
I just think that sociologically, and psychologically the PC and Console player differ, and tapping the console gamer might require some new & optimized strats.
I don't agree with this at all. I've seen people say PCs and consoles are completely seperate markets, but just from personal experience - console-like PCs are just an evolution of console gaming.

I was a console-only person most of my life, never touching a PC for gaming full-time until years later when I got a PC for my own. Since then, I've never really looked back. It's just a full-on replacement.

And while consoles do have advantages, the console-like form factor of the Steam Deck and possibly whatever this new thing is neuters those advantages in my eyes. Gone is the guesswork over whether a game will work or not, or having a complicated interface or controls - it's just a box with a controller that works with things labelled to work.

Honestly, me moving to Linux in 2024 was a largely similar feeling. Sacrifices had to be made of course, but the feeling the new OS gave to me was so much better than what I'd been used to, to the point that I can't ever really go back at this point. It just treats me too well. Who's to say the same thing won't happen here, to many others?

I think bringing console players to PC isn't an issue of needing new strategies - I think it's an issue of letting consoles continue to enshittify and PC continue to improve as has been happening the past decade or so. People will move over then naturally, especially with gateway PCs like these; hell, they may skip over Windows entirely and go right to Linux, god willing.

Thank. GOD. Grow Home deserved better than a single sequel before the studio was condemned to the Ubi-mines. Maybe I should pick it up later...

Gyro through a collection of handcrafted mazes in the Steam Deck exclusive Game With Balls

I don't see a problem with it using Proton. The same reason as always: a single build for the developer to test. And yes, that also applies if Steam Deck is the only target.
Doesn't change the fact it's pretty goofy imo. It's like making a Switch exclusive by developing a game for Android and relying on translation layers, sounds like you're only overcomplicating the process and adding another layer of failure.

Steam Survey for July 2025 shows Linux approaching 3%

I like to think I'll be among them, except my squad mostly plays Warzone, PUBG, and is looking at BF6. I keep telling myself next update (a year or two) I'll dual boot. But we'll see.
I'd recommend dual-booting sooner than later, personally. Linux isn't something you want to rush into; you need to get a feel for it first, make sure you're comfortable using it. If you rush into it, most likely you'll find it too difficult in the beginning and quit; I know too many people who've fallen into that trap. Just get a feel for how things work for a bit, troubleshoot, figure out how to do the things you want to do, figure out what does and doesn't work, stuff like that.

Then as time goes on you can use Windows less and less, until you're only using it for those select games that choose never to cross over, or ideally not at all. Take your time with it and don't just bang your head at the wall like I did for a while - unless you've got a buddy already comfortable with Linux. That tends to make headbanging a lot more manageable.
