Silent Hill 2 remake announced and coming to Steam

i mean... with a few asterisks.
i recomend watching higurashi first, the first 2 seasons relased are classics the thirdy is still very good but not part of the main arc, the forth, well, its pure "fanservice" so be warned.
recently they relased a few more higurashi animes but i havent watched and my friend who did got disapointed.
as for umineko, i liked the anime despite a few issues, like obviously skiping/rushing content from the game, a lot of nonsense happening, not finishing the story and others... but i highly recomend to watch the first seasons of higurashi before watching umineko (actually the first 2 or 3) it make even less sense otherwise.
or play the game first...
anyway, its a great piece of art, if the game is as good as the anime, then its incredible.

while anyone can distribute FOSS games, the name should be trademarked to prevent stuff like this from happening...
there is nothing wrong with forking and charging for it, so long you respect the licence...

Quoting: PenglingJust curious: Are you required to use their application in order to dump your cartridges? And if not, is that something that they'll be adding?that is an awesome idea.
I ask because something that was great about the Retrode 2 (a similar earlier device for SNES and Mega Drive cartridges, plus others by way of adapters) was that it simply presented itself as USB mass-storage - you could just copy and paste the ROM-image and your save-files this way, with nothing required other than your OS' file-manager.

i think this is just the begining, if steam deck start selling like an console, companies will care about providing an first class support for SteamOS if nothing else.
if linux had an bigger marketshare than windows, linux would be the first target instead of an after trhough, android is there to prove, and windowsphone is dead for a point.

well i guess that goes to those naysayers who thought native support were more important than marketshare...
proton made it sustainable to grow the marketshare , and the marketshare made it commercialy viable to offer native support again.
it has been a long time since we heard an big brand natively supporting linux and i think we will start to see it again.

[quote=buckysrevenge]Just to clarify, the Steam Deck uses the Windows version by default [External Link], but there is a Linux version. I also noticed that the Linux version uses OpenGL, which causes some texture issues for me on my other systems, forcing the game to use Vulkan fixes that.[/quote

the only downside seems to be this cable floating arround, someone need to invent an way to wrap arround the deck nicely.

maybe its because valve is infamous for not knowing how to count to 3 and having "valve time" maybe this branch will be different and work under a different schedule, culture/organization instead of the "anarchy" described by some valve employees...
