Thanks for the mention. And no, Rocket League is much more focused in that direction and has very different physics. Still I think it can be fun as a variation from the normal races, but I'm a bit biased as I've been testing the game for too many years.
Regarding needing animators and voice actors, contributors are very welcome. ;)

Rocket League for Linux & SteamOS getting close to a release window finally

Finally, I have resorted to using Windows 10 to play this game with friends and now there's one less reason to ever boot it, yay! I also got Psyonix at least two more customers.
And yeah I realize I'm not supporting Linux as well as I should but I reckon having some semblance of a social life makes the trade-off worth it.

Linux usage on Steam is better than people think

Just wanted to comment that over the 3 or so years I've been using Steam I have gotten the hardware survey several times on Linux and one or two times on Windows. I'm using an Ubuntu based distribution so maybe the survey picks up on things better here, I don't know. Anyway, things are already not bad and are getting better for Linux gaming, especially closed source titles, though I hope that people don't forget about open source titles as well.
SuperTuxKart 0.8.2 Beta Released

We are going to look into getting onto Steam, though we'll probably want to get the stable version of 0.8.2 out first. We are quite few developers so anything extra can take a lot of time to happen since it's a thing we're doing on our spare time. Anyone wanting to help out are welcome, even if you aren't a C++ guru just fixing some simple bugs now and then would help a lot (imagine if a bunch of people did that, our core developers could spend time on other things instead). ;)

Quoting: GuestI was talking about a Linux exclusive, being a Linux exclusive. That would limit the amount of developers we'd be able to attract, and we are already hard pressed for those. One of our main developers prefer developing in Visual Studio, and if it weren't for him there would be no SuperTuxKart as we know it today.
If you catch my drift.

Oh and for people who want to unlock the new tracks without playing the story mode, please see http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6043 [External Link]
Steam, maybe later, we'll first have to get the stable 0.8.2 out. Thanks for the comments so far!

Only Linux to Linux multiplayer? That's a bit sad, as the only way I were going to get this would be if my Windows wielding friends wanted to play it. Now that's not even a distant possibility. :(
0 A.D. Alpha 17 "Quercus" Released

0ad have done crowdfunding in the past, and from what they say they have some money but no experienced dev with lots of free time to give it to. So money certainly doesn't solve everything (though in large enough amounts people could quit their day jobs... not likely unfortunately).

Quoting: Segata SanshiroI think SuperTuxKart were going to do something like this once they implement their new engine.Yup, we hope to do something, though it's still a bit vague. Maybe Kickstarter, and possibly Steam later; we have to work that out. But still we have to actually come closer to a 0.9 release; atm we focus on getting a 0.8.2 release out soonish.
