I hate this mod.
I wasn't a huge fan of HL1, but they took a game full of hitscan enemies, janky platforming, and pitfalls and made it have more of that.
Yay.
"HARDCORE" f off.
Yes Half-Life was the first fps with a focus on story, but that brought in crazy linearity and obtuse puzzles. It feels like a walking simulator smashed into an FPS B on the highway and they called it a day.
This mod just makes it look fancier and increases the difficulty. The difficulty in HL1 was always "easy to cheese or completely unfair".
I think the Half-Life games aged like milk, and are so linear and scripted, I don't see how people play them more than once. I liked HL2 the first time I played it (save the horrid vehicle sections), but the second time was exactly the same. Same linear path you get shoved down. Same solutions to the same problems.
I remember thinking found secrets the first time, only to discover that there's basically no secrets save the ammo and health marked with lambdas.
Scales from my eyes, I'll take the Doom games any day.
1 and 2 have ludicrously stupid stories, but the gameplay is more varied and fun. 2016 has a good story that stays out of the way.
Hell, I'll take Quake 1.

Considering that I use a PS4 I can't say I'm terribly opposed to a proprietary OS sequestered on a dedicated device.
Radeon graphics support is so much more limited on Linux atm.
If Mesa and the drivers catch up I'd switch in a minute, regardless of the crazy stuff I'd have to do get Wine stuff to work with the "steam controller" built into it.
Is there a price shown for the actual release version? That could be either more or less than the backer price.
I could get a better experience switching my Vita to my USA account (Been using it for imports).

The original is the first RTS I've really wanted to get into.
It's incredibly intimidating, at I'm rubbish at RTS, so I'm hoping to eventually co-op with a friend, but my internets is shits.

My reason I'm uninterested: I'm rubbish at RTS, and they feel more like work than games, to me.

Looking forward to the proper release!
The only Minor Key release for Linux I don't have iirc is Neon Struct, and I just don't find stealth compelling.
I need to get back to Super Win the Game. Most fun I've ever had with a "hardcore" platformer. That is to say I didn't rage much.

"Timing is to tight..." That's what I was afraid of. Timing puzzles make me rage. Fractured Soul made me think. I was going to have an aneurysm.
And VVVVVV... *Shudder*

I cannot do RTS.
Anything with a build phase, is what it comes down to, I suppose.
Logistics. I suck at production, too.
Even if I can delegate, I choose wrong once and I lose interest, because it feels like a house of cards.
I'm good with acquisition, trading and crafting as an individual or group, but dealing with multiple locations, moving resources around AND doing combat...
My head hurts just thinking about it...
Even in something turn-based like HoMM or Civ I'm awful. I plateau and get flanked, or I'm at stoneworking and get stomped by ships with cannons...
This is on 'easy' btw.
I can't even tell when these games are good or not, they're so beyond me.
