Just wanted to let you know that I played the demo in both Windows and Linux. I have to say I'm impressed with the performance parity. I'm running a GTX 760 and it seemed to average around 45 FPS with a few bumps and a few dips in places. But I made a point to keep an eye on the FPS counter and it was pretty close throughout the whole demo.

I'm pretty excited about what Vulkan is able to do for emulation. On the downside regarding this new method from Libreto, you cannot enhance the internal resolution. Meaning you must play at the N64's native resolution, and can't scale your game to 1080p (or on up). For me, personally, that detracts one of the main reasons for emulation.

The fact that they have a pre-alpha before they hit the stretch goal "as a gesture of good faith" says a lot about the devs if you ask me. I haven't had the chance to test it out, yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it!
I backed it yesterday in hopes of pushing it towards the 1st stretch goal :)

I'm primarily a Windows gamer for the sake of selection, but I'm really rooting for Linux and Vulkan!

Quoting: TincheA little weird they mention a workaround for an Ubuntu release over 4 years old (there have been two LTS releases since)My guess is that it's the official Linux distribution supported by Steam if I recall correctly.

I think it's great to show that a lot of people would be interested in changing the theme of SteamOS/BPM. Ideally, I think things could really shine if Valve made an API for the Steam client that would allow themers to basically build their own interface from the ground up. While a lot of people here in this thread seem not to like this particular PSN-ish skin, I think what we should take away from this is that Linux is about choice. That's why we're all here. If Valve/SteamOS can become the Google/Android of gaming, then we're all in for a wild ride!
