Don't forget Condition Zero! :)

It's a bit of a quirky sibling, with its focus on singleplayer campaigns, building a team of bots you buy or going through linear, scripted missions with bullet-spongy enemies, but I think it's still a fun episode – I still revisit it every few years :)

Worms W.M.D is out day-1 on Linux, here's some early thoughts

Worms W.M.D is out day-1 on Linux, here's some early thoughts

It's completely broken for me:

1) Skipping mouse clicks as Liam reports
2) Doesn't remember custom teams across game restarts
3) AI does absolutely nothing all round, just stands there and switches weapons until time runs out
4) Some of the backgrounds on maps are solid black
5) Mouse movement doesn't scroll through the map
6) Last but not least, trying to move your worm completely freezes the game

I'll wait until some patch kicks in and try not to exceed my refund time when testing.

Worms W.M.D will see a slight delay with the Linux version

I wouldn't be so impressed with their track record, in case of Worms Reloaded for example it didn't support any DLCs on Linux, and if I recall correctly doesn't even do cross-platform multiplayer. Hopefully WMD will set their record straight about this :)

Developers of ARK: Survival Evolved facing a lawsuit from the Dungeon Defenders devs

Well, if the dev signed the NCA and broke it, the fault is on him/her.

Those contracts aren't as unfair as they may seem; the ones that I signed always said that my employer may deny me the right to work for competition, but if they do that they are obliged to pay me ~50% of my salary for that entire period (I would honestly prefer to have 50% of my salary for free than have to work anywhere at all!). In every single case when I quit the company the NCA was thus cancelled because they didn't care enough to cover the costs.

I'm not sure if the NCA in question had such clause, but whether it had it or not, the dev in question is at fault and deserves the punishment in one way or another.

Quoting: StianTheDark
Quoting: theRealPadsterI recently installed Firewatch and I have this issue on Arch. When I run that line it says the schema doesn't exist. I couldn't find anything on gconf-editor. Possibly make one?
No such schema 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.cursor'

It doesn't exist on Arch. It's a thing Canonical has enabled in their thingy.

See? It can be a bug on both, but Ubuntu made it actually fixable ;)

Quoting: dubigrasuSo you can play this with the controller and survive?
Most people can't even survive using the mouse, including myself. I think its harder than CS:GO, as I don't want to lay down somewhere for minutes to be shot from the side.
My thoughts exactly. I suppose that in a game where everyone is using the controller you have equal chances, but (as much as I like the controller) in a normal game playing with it is an exercise in futility.

It's honestly not that bad. I played a couple rounds myself both on mouse and on a steampad, and while of course it was easier for me to quickly snap my aim to someone unexpected with a mouse than with a pad, most of the trouble I got into were because of my stupid positioning and the lack of map knowledge rather than missing mechanical skills.

I played with Prey before Linux Gaming was cool; if that doesn't make me a good hunter, I don't know what does :)
