Been playing this game casually, so far managed to get to halfway of Act 3. Really good game and runs well even on a low end laptop.

For those interested I maintain up to date compiled builds for Debian 9 and older distros (as far as old as Ubuntu 14.04).

Details can be found at this link: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/forum/topic/3806/post_id=24920

Just installed this on my mom's PC, she was expecting the classic solitaire game. Still liked it in the end :)

Borderlands 3, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint out this week on Google Stadia

Quoting: tmtvlXenoverse 2 is a good game. If it wasn't Google Stadia, I'd check it out.

...Hang on, does that mean that there is a Linux version of Xenoverse 2? They should put that on Steam.
While I don't have any certainty, I think that any game running on Stadia has eventually been ported to Linux+Vulkan. Unfortunately it doesn't mean devs are willing to release it for a normal Linux desktop (support costs, the usual distro difference excuse etc).

vkBasalt, the Vulkan post-processing layer has another new release with new effects

Quoting: PatolaHey, I was finally able to compile it on my Ubuntu 18.04.
Now I don't know which games would benefit mostly from its filters/effects. Any suggestions?
One game that truly benefits from this is Legend of Grimrock 2. For some odd reason the game has no built in AA of any type (even on Windows). The difference with vkBasalt's SMAA became a night and day difference.

Quoting: Avehicle7887Trine 3 with Mesa brings back dark memories. The OpenGL core profile wasn't the only issue it had, the game also required the fp64 feature (Floating Point 64) which at the time Intel HD didn't have in Mesa (AMD was ok'ish). Ironically running the game in Wine on the same system worked perfectly (performance aside).

Thankfully the native version works fine now in Intel HD so those dark days are gone.
Are you sure that fp64 is mandatory for this game? The reason why Hamish GPU doesn't report a core profile up to OGL 4.5 is due to the lack of fp64. But as he mentioned, overriding the version did the trick.
Probably at the time I misread it but the game had a troublesome past with Intel gpu's back then, In a slight regards to FP64 on older AMD gpu's I dug up a 2018 article from Phoronix: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Mesa-Soft-FP64-Angling-Upstream [External Link]

Anyhow I'll try to not derail the thread :)

Some early first impressions of Google Stadia played on Linux

Quoting: michaldybczakHow did they make Destiny 2 run if protondb shows it as borked? Everyone says that Stadia is on Linux but it looks like there are only Linux servers. The game is somehow streamed from Windows or am I missing something?
Mine are only bits and pieces but I am convinced that they actually ported the games to Linux for them to work. It seems rather odd to me that they'd emphasize so much about Vulkan and Debian (especially Vulkan).

Google didn't reveal much info how it works under the hood and the game devs are also a bit tight lipped, I did find this [External Link] though, "porting games to google stadia" sounds weird. And this regarding RDR2's engine [External Link]

One might ask "if they ported their games to Linux why not release a normal version?". a few possibilities:

Clients such as uPlay, Origin, Rockstar don't have a native client.
Their highly adored and banal DRM Denuvo doesn't seem to have a Linux version (despite their games get cracked anyway).
And (even though they make millions every year) - Additional support costs for a niche platform
