Quoting: Xpanderi myself like to get games automatically updaded and so on.. and if steam dies some time in the future, those games probably arent worth to play anyway anymore..if some are for nostalgic purposes then i would probably use cracked versions or whatever since i already own them anyway.
With the difference that you own none of the games or even the license to use on the platform - short conclusion from the EULA. :) And old games are also worth to play. But in this case you are right from my point of view: Everybody their own.

Interesting concept. But I would only buy this game if it is DRM-free released either as boxed version or directly for download on platforms like GOG.com or GamersGate. Not giving any cent for DRM-platforms where the game needs to be activated, even this is the only step to be taken the proprietary client for STEAM is needed!

Age Of Wonders III Officially Nearing Beta For Linux

I hope this game will also available through GOG.com: The Windows-release is there. But lets hope the Linux-version will there also. :)

Just want no DRM through Steam, because the game itself has this account-force included for playing.

Quoting: edqeSteamOS will define if Linux has future in gaming. I use SteamOS because I want to see what kind of gaming experience people will have with Steam Machines / SteamOS.
Future gaming? This is just a distribution with a proprietary Steam-client, nothing more and nothing less. There should be all more concern about normal ways for gaming and this way, which is based on DRM and customer binding, is meaningless from my point of view. The future is defined by freedom and not by this!

Would be nice if the release for Two Worlds 2 - whenever planned - would be also for GOG and not only for some DRM-platforms out there! ^_^
