"Well on their way to the linux stretch goal" ... Yet they haven't even hit their goal for the Windows/XBox One version?

They need to raise another $150,000 in less than a month just to hit that initial goal, doesn't really seem like they'll hit the £1.1m target (another $300,000 on top) does it?

Frankly it's hard to believe that 32bit builds have lasted so long.

Feral Interactive are teasing another new Linux & Mac port with a new clue

Just in case you were serious, which I doubt you were ...

Why would Volition go to a third party to port Red Faction Guerilla when they already have in-house experience of porting their games to linux with the Saint's Row series?

Why when we already know that both Warhammer games are coming to linux, with Feral the most likely porter for both games given their history (and their fingerprints all over the SteamDB for Warhammer 40k), would the least likely answer of Red Faction Guerilla be the right answer?

Remember, that while we know both Warhammer games are coming, Feral haven't officially confirmed either. The ToW game was confirmed by Creative Assembly (no mention of porter) and WH4K: DoW was confirmed by the appearance of repos months back in SteamDB.

As has already been said more than once in this thread - Mars = God of WAR and "808 SB12S" = mc HAMMER - so the ONLY valid answer can be "Total War: Warhammer" or "[u]Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II" both of which we already know about but neither of which have been previously confirmed by [b]Feral themselves.

Feral seem to be on a mission to bring the entire Total War series to linux whether we want them or not.

So can we all stop pretending that we don't know the answer already?

Performance drop in video coincides with the mist/cloud effects?

If this is fixed and performance is comparable to Windows, then I will be happy to give them my money for the full price.
Only you're not paying the full price, the full price on launch was far higher. I know it might seem like a petty point, I know that Windows users can buy it at the same price as we are paying now but the majority bought the game when it was launched at more than twice the current asking price. Or to put it another way, the Linux launch price is less than half the Windows launch price which makes it a bargin even given the performance issues, which as I've already said do not really impact the playability of the game - at no point does it turn into a slideshow or lag noticeably.

If it wasn't possible to monitor the FPS in the game, would people even be raising the framerate as an issue? I doubt it.

With a GTX 970 and the 361.42 driver on Ultra I'm finding the FPS to be disappointing at times. Frequently sub 60 fps, down into the mid 30s for extended periods which really isn't what I'd expect for a three year old game with this GPU (nevermind the i7-4790K and 16GB Ram).

It's playable, and I've never really placed a great deal of emphasis on fps as long as it doesn't interfere with playing the game but ...

I think the premise has promise, but the execution is a little too arcade for my liking. Creeping through the undergrowth, ambushing and generally being a sneaky bastard would make for a fun time - however this looks to be more like The Running Man than Battle Royale.

Quoting: EikeI'm packaging two programs for Debian, so I'm one of these "loons". (I looked it up and I'm still unsure how harsh the expression is... :o) ) Last time I looked, Ubuntu never cared to pull in a new version until I did for Debian, so Debian always had the newest version of my packages. I guess this is not true for some central packages, but I think it still holds for the vast majority of stuff.
I'm on the other side of the equation as a developer on a large OSS project. So I'm often grateful to and frustrated by packagers in equal measure. Whether it's enduring endless bug reports and frustrated users for an issue which was fixed a year ago, or because we're stuck maintaining support for obsolete versions of dependencies. Special ire is reserved for packagers who think they know better than us and apply their own patches or build with their own 'optimisations' because the end user doesn't know they aren't getting a vanilla version - Debian packagers happen to be famously the worst offenders (SSH key incident, IceWeasel etc).

So don't take my comments personally, I happen to like a lot of packagers on both a personal and professional level, but as a collective whole ...

BTW, where is this minimum driver version requirement that everyone is talking about? I can't find it anywhere (game isn't yet on Steam and nothing on the Feral site about linux requirements).
