The developers sent me a key for it today, just got a chance to play around half an hour and you know what it's pretty damn good. It's a little bit wordy for my likings but it's early days yet may not be so wordy later on.
The graphics are good, gameplay seems quite fun too.
Have also been added to their PR list so I should get emails before a release pops up in future.

My point still stands, it isn't pay what you want for all of it, it's pay what you want for some, then pay more for the rest.

The originals introduced it later on in the bundles and all previous purchasers got the extra games free, new buyers had to pay more than the average.
Now they do it from the start.

Quoting: abelthorne"although it now seems the normal to have a pay more than the average game section too so it's not completely PWYW anymore."I adjusted the article to show what I meant better.
The "pay above the average to get some of the games" has been there since the first HIB if I recall correctly...

Quoting: CheesenessAlready have someone donating $30 to bump me up, gave them a shout out on the twitter feed :)Quoting: liamdaweI backed at an alpha tier. I can probably write some words about it when it's up and about ^_^Quoting: redstar427I am curious is you bumped your Planetary Annihilation up to Alpha, as it will start in 2 weeks. Of course, probably Alpha will only be multiplayer because I think the AI won't be done to play against the computer until Beta.Afraid not, I really wish I could but I'm totally broke so I am afraid GOL won't do much covering until it hits Beta unless some rich patron chucks us $30 to upgrade to the Alpha :P
Desura to more clearly label third-party DRM

Good, I am glad they are taking that small but useful step it's not much to ask after all really now is it to list if a product has DRM.
I have been waiting on this new design for quite some time now since Scott first told me about it, I really hope it works better as Desura's current home page is awful, personally I think their Games Page [External Link] serves as a better home page than their current one.
While we are at it, I hate their comment system with the weird tree view with comments all out of place, I much prefer the standard one after the other.
