Mind-bending puzzler Superliminal is getting a multiplayer mode

Quoting: UltraAltesBrotIsn't multiplayer on GOG a no anyway?
Depends how it's done. If developers use actual cross-platform tech, it's no problem. If they decided to hook into Galaxy, it's a no-go for Linux native since GOG still haven't bothered to support it for us.

Sorry, missed that it was in the presentation but not the specs sheet. Added.

original Team GrisGris
Team GrisGris is not the original developer. Makoto Kedouin is. And the true original game is the '96 one. It has a faithful (fan) remake "CORPSE PARTY -Rebuilt-" available in English.
Have adjusted the text to be clearer. Still, the history is a little confusing as most sources state GrisGris being one of the original developers of the very first game in addition to Makoto Kedōin.

Quoting: tuubiIn the Main Gamepad graph I see separate bars for "Other" and "Others". What's that about?
Good catch, was a naming conflict. Gamepads had "Other" as an option, and the graphs automatically bundle anything outside the top 10 into "Others". I've now switched the question to be "Not Listed" to prevent it being confusing and updated all the data and everyone to the new naming.

Quoting: LightkeyAfter a lot of back and forth, Liam went for my first suggestion to stick to AMD's stupid naming change in 2020 but include the former GPU codename and number of compute units next to it in brackets, so you can find your specific model based on the naming that every reviewer still uses.
Yes, many thanks for the feedback on AMD's idiotic naming.

Quoting: LightkeyI don't know if he changed the existing selection to their corresponding replacement or whether you have to do it yourself, check it either way!
99% of people were moved over but people should still check to be sure.

5.8% sales and over 38% of bug reports from Linux said one dev but it's been helpful

Quoting: tfkI really would like to know how the percentage of Linux users is determined. If I buy from my phone would the sale be counted as windows or Linux?
We have info on our Steam Tracker.

Quoting: The_AquabatI bought a new controller is a GameSir PRO T4, but here is the catch with a simple press of a button Linux can detect it both as a Switch controller or an Xbox One controller. I guess that's falls into the category "others".
Yes, that would be others. It's not what it's detected as but what it is.

Quoting: natis1I feel bad for these lowend laptop makers considering the deck is about to come out. They're not bad devices and for pure productivity the larger and higher res screen is nice but I imagine if the deck gets accessories that make it more into a convertible laptop it could swallow most of this lowend market
As others have said, a laptop is still going to be far better for a lot of things. Not only that, the Steam Deck is only going to be available in limited quantities, with many people not getting one until late 2022 and beyond due to the demand and supply. Additionally, carrying around a small portable laptop like this versus a Steam Deck with a bunch of extra accessories? For work I know I would pick the laptop. Then again, why not both even? They serve different worlds.

Steam Play tool Luxtorpeda for running games in native Linux engines sees a major upgrade

Quoting: CZiNTrPTWait, I don't get it? What does this do exactly?

It's not a emulator layer like proton and it just supports games which support Linux anyways? So why do I need it?

I'm missing something...
Instead of launching through Proton it would run it through a compatible native game engine.

Half-Life 2 and the episodes get a Beta with Vulkan (DXVK) and more
19 Oct 2021 at 11:52 am UTC

Quoting: EhvisI'm no Unity expert, but I don't think it's any easier to modify unity to run with dxvk native. Sounds more like a very dirty hack job. In that case Proton would be far easier to manage.
Considering even on Windows some users have been using DXVK to improve performance in their games, it's probably not all that difficult to slot it in.
