Quoting: redneckdrow
Quoting: eldakingWell, I already bought it (and the base game) three times, all through Humble Bundles, so not directly affected.

There are supposedly also in-game challenges to unlock cosmetics for CK3, but I wasn't able to find those when I opened the game (not that I looked very hard, I had a game ongoing already).
Well According to the 3.30 changelog (via Changelog.txt in the game's directory):

Spoiler, click me

- Monarch's Journey is available to all non-Linux players. This is a feature which will bi-weekly present new characters to play with a scenario of challenges to earn cosmetic rewards for the upcoming Crusader Kings III game.

Emphasis mine, I hope this doesn't mean we won't see CK3. I have 657 hours in CK2; it's my most played game on Steam!
Here's what Paradox told me about that little feature not being on Linux:

The technology we're using in the background to make this possible unfortunately doesn't have support for the Linux platform.

Quoting: NeoTheFoxGreat job on that sliding preview, it really works well for side-by-side. You are very good at this Liam.
Can't take all credit. I implemented it using https://github.com/koenoe/cocoen [External Link], no point reinventing the wheel :)
Nice feature, Liam.

Do you notice a slight misalignment between the two pictures?
I wonder if this is due to the source material slightly shifted,
the post-processing or the implementation of the new feature?
I don't see any misalignment? Can you point it out?
Here it's just a pixel or so.
If I quickly move the slider, so that it's like swapping the images,
it clearly looks like the post-processed image is slightly shifted downwards.

Wait, this is strange. :)

When I freshly open the page, it looks fine.
Once I go to another comment page this misalignment occurs and stays until I freshly open the article,
say in another tab.

Firefox on Fedora.

Yet, it's really not a big thing.

Can you reproduce that?
I'm getting this consistently. Seems like the post-processed image is ~2 pixels further down, but it's barely noticeable.
Gonna need a shot, not happening at all for me. I'm thinking perhaps we're seeing the same thing differently. The effect on it does make it looks like things shift, but it's the same image in the same place.

Perhaps if Valve keep doing interesting features like this, more developers might consider the 30% cut Valve take as worth it?
Nobody actually thinks that. Just running the infrastructure yourself can cost as much, not to mention development and maintenance of the software. It's all about grabbing the free cash that's being flung around lately. I doubt it will last.
Not entirely sure what you're saying? No consumers think it or no game developers think it's worth it? Or are you saying the opposite, that no developer truly thinks Valve's 30% isn't worth it?

Reply from Paradox:
We are aware that some customers have not been provided with the Old Gods DLC after signing up to the email list. This is down to the sheer volume of sign ups (you rock!) and we are fixing it by the end of the week. Don't worry, you'll get your DLC, it's just going to take a little bit of time as we spent all last week at PDXCon and also moved offices so we have our hands full at the moment ;)! Please check your games tab (accounts.paradoxplaza.com/games) at the end of the week and you should see it there.

Boxtron, the Steam Play compatibility tool for DOSBox brings more improvements in another update

Quoting: hardpenguinCan someone please explain to me, how is this better than running Windows version of DOSBox with Proton?

Performance is not an issue in majority of DOSBox titles on modern systems. What can native DOSBox possibly offer me opposed to DOSBox in Wine/Proton?
It's all there in the readme on GitHub.

Lower input lag (compared to DOSBox inside Proton)
Steam features working as expected (e.g. Steam Cloud, Controller settings or recording of time played)
Better fullscreen support, especially on multi-monitor setups*
Steam Overlay working out of the box*
More configuration options and better defaults*
Automatic detection of MIDI hardware, with software synthesiser used as fallback
Automatic MIDI setup for supported titles (click Play and enjoy pre-configured MIDI music)
* - compared to vanilla DOSBox
I imagine plenty of DOSBox powered games on Steam will never upgrade the version used, so no matter what this would give you a better experience overall with newer features and support.

Humble Monthly will be changing to Humble Choice later this year

Speaking personally, just to echo what I said in the article. I still firmly think it's a good deal. I have an active monthly sub with them and will be continuing it, I've saved a lot from it and gained some really fun games.

Unlike Netflix though, you keep what you get, so I think it's actually better value since there's so few things I actually like on Netflix...

Quoting: Liam DaweNope, telemetry and DRM are different. One is tracking, one is restricting.
We can quote each other and write nope an arbitrary number of times. Both tracking and restricting are DRM.
No, they are not.

DRM is about restrictions. Telemetry is about gathering data. Conflating them into the same thing is factually incorrect.
