Quoting: GuestNo newer podcast episodes?
Sorry, I should have mentioned this here too, this has been added:
Do note, that this is the last for a while as the News Punch is going on a Summer Break. Season 2 will melt onto the internet sometime in September.
It was also posted previously across our various social networks Twitter, Mastodon etc.

The Great Perhaps is a time-travelling adventure coming to Linux next month

Quoting: GuestAny word about non-Steam releases? Daedalic usually had those so far (and I like their adventures!)
Only seen Steam mentioned so far.

Looks like Valve are developing another new game, something to do with "Citadel"

So what we've learned is that mods are awesome ;)

The GitHub not the forum: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues [External Link]

Don't get me wrong it's a shame when a game doesn't work on SteamOS directly but no one focuses on it, not even Valve at the moment.

They are not able to adjust the "SteamOS + Linux" bit. Hard coded by Valve.

Sounds like a SteamOS problem to me. Have you opened a ticket on Valve's GitHub for it?

Quoting: wazz4657This game is dope, but I gotta call out the "well supported" comment...it's not. This is another in a line of games broken on SteamOS and other distros (glibc), and I've spoken to them on the forums, there are no plans to fix. I know how the game goes, and they can't support every distro, and if I'm being honest I could play this on one of my Ubuntu machines, so I'm just bitching...but my gaming rig is SteamOS, and this will likely never run there again. Wasted my $$$ on all the DLC up till now, but I will not be buying this xpac, unfortunately.
I'll bite. It worked perfectly on Ubuntu, also works on Manjaro (although the launch scripts supplied with the GOG version seems iffy, have to launch the game directly - will let them know).

SteamOS rarely sees updates, it's also one of the smallest minorities in distribution use. I don't expect any single developer to focus effort on SteamOS until Valve are ready to put the light back on it and more people use it.

Edit: Even looking over the SteamOS support topic, they did try to help [External Link] and did include the extra libs they said they would (verified with a fresh download from GOG).

Dinosaur survival game "Path of Titans" is already funded after only a few days

Quoting: ZlopezThey already reached first stretch goal!

I supported them, because this was something I wanted to play till I was kid and now dream is coming true. :-)
Second stretch goal should be easy at the rate this is going, which makes me happy. Dino deathmatch :D

Bendy and the Ink Machine & Prison Architect going cheap in the new Humble Very Positive Bundle 3

Quoting: PhlebiacSteam said I already own Bendy and the Ink Machine (probably some prior bundle). However, it says the executable is missing; in fact, installing it just yielded an empty directory here. Is it working for anyone else?

Edit: verifying integrity in Steam says everything is good, so it must be an empty depot or something.

Edit 2: maybe I just had the demo, and they screwed up when they merged everything together:
Apr 27, 2017 Bendy and the Ink Machine Complimentary
I got the free first episode, and they managed to organize it so I cannot buy the full product now... :-(

So maybe Humble Bundle would be a way to get it?
Anyboy got a Bendy too much, maybe? :)
When this happens, you can just ask Steam to permanently remove it from your library, then you're able to get the full game. I had to do that once or twice when Steam stuff was messed up. Obviously I only recommend doing that if you are going to get the full stuff, so you don't lose anything then.

Quoting: TwoDToo bad Prison Architect just dropped the DRM free version now that Introversion is no longer involved. It is a great game by an awesome studio, and the new ownership has improved it, but it still feels a hit like a betrayal to the original supporters who played it all throughout the early days.
Well, the DRM-free version in question was directly supplied by Introversion. They no longer have the rights, so it was obvious that would happen. It's still fully DRM-free from Humble and GOG.

Looks like supporting multiple platforms has been worth it for Rings of Saturn

Quoting: tmtvlBefore we cheer too much, what're their total numbers like? If Linux is doing very well I think their numbers may be kinda low. Not to be too much of a downer, it means indies do have an incentive to support Linux if they can do so without having to mess too much with porting.
I think you've missed the point. Firstly, I included the approx revenue in the article, just over $1K on itch.
Second, the actual point is just to highlight that the developer themselves thought it was worth it, which we should cheer, regardless.

Quoting: RoosterThis needs a Battle Royale mode. I'm not even joking.
Holy crap I'm so down for that :O

With the modding support, that should hopefully be possible.
