Quoting: CreakI just tried it and honnestly, it needs way more work IMO. It showed a tutorial for maximum 10 seconds and then drop you in the game.. I lost 10 games out of 10 and didn't understood anything of what was happening (although I am already a Dota2 player).I think that's part of why Valve want to make a stand-alone, it seems like a good game but it needs quite a lot of streamlining to open it to a properly wide audience which Valve have the resources to do. I would probably happily play it if they manage to get it working well and in this case, they're at least doing something that's already popular...
It was very frustrating... (some would say: like the original game ;) )

Whelp, you're right. I can only imagine what happened there, really odd. Must have been a mess-up with the final audio file used, possibly used the pre-LUFS adjusted one. Ooops. Will aim to improve for next time, apologies.

Could you give me any timestamps? I've gone over with both speakers and headphones and to me, they all sound really clear so I'm a little confused :(

Quoting: dpanterAlways good content in a nice small package. What is going on with the audio though? Very low volume this time and strange compression artifacts. Like you are pushing too strong mic pop filtering + compression or something. On the video and the ogg/mp3 or just one of them?

Oh don't worry, it's not too much trouble. Just wanting to know how much interest there is, as it usually has very little in the way of comments :)

I did check before publishing, it was set to Clean. It's more about the text though, to be clearer on that which even on Clean still looks overly pixelated. Have made the article clearer.

Quoting: NezchanI wonder if this was inspired by our exchange on Mastodon. Even if not, it's worth keeping a list of what goes into full release each year, if only to get an idea of where the Linux market is at in terms of actual "finished" games.Afraid not, was already working on it just seeing what others enjoyed :)

Quoting: g000hSlightly surprised that you didn't mention Counter-Strike: Go Danger Zone which has had big updates in 2019 so far. Also Steel Rats was released late 2018, but the native Linux version wasn't available until early 2019.Well Danger Zone was an update, released last year for an older game. Wasn't quite a good fit for what I wanted here :)
Personally, I'm looking forward to Dicey Dungeons getting some more updates (and leaving Early Access), which shouldn't be too far away. Also I hope Serious Sam 4 comes out later this year (rather than any longer).
Deep Rock Galactic continues being some of the most fun I've had in a while, thanks to Steam Play

If someone calls an article "trash" they deserve what they get. I'm not saying any more on it, our rules do get enforced.
